@Tegetthoff: I saw that your latest package contains different tech-tree files for HoI2 and DD (Positioning of the Elements).

It would be great if we can think about a layout which is suitable for both version (which mean that we will have just one file again).

Hi guys,

back form a nice weekend in the countryside with the wife, no internet and no modding for three days (and two busy work weeks ahead of me). So there is life without HOI2 1914 .....

v. Manstein,

You are right, I could reposition the techs so they fit both into HOI2 and DD. With so much talk of moving social techs etc. I just wanted to show that it can - basically be done.

I will think about it, just have to reactivate Kriss_nor to get a nice background.

I am not sure how much work I can do in the next two weeks. Business trips, family reunions, the lot....

Cheers

T.

How many tech trees will be revamped? Some now are still suffiecient enough.

May I suggest some sort of edit on the way to discovering aircraft? Currently, if starting in 1897, you will have to go through the "testing" phase of aircraft technology before ever being able to move on to air units. This is very tedious, especially for minor and medium nations. Hence, I suggest a solution where the "through the air!"-event sets a global flag called "powered_flight_discovered" or something. This will then trigger random events for other nations allowing them to get straight to the business of researching aircraft without having to research a tech with 20 difficulty for several years.

What sort of late-game tech do the Germans get? What about the Paris gun, early rocketry, &c.? Also, do the Russians get the Tsar Tank?

Hi folks!

Maybe i'm posting this in the wrong thread, so sorry if that's the case ;)
I had a look at Korea's Tech Teams (there are none so far) and already mentioned that somewhat earlier. I now did some little research on my own and found two historical people from Korea which could be used as Tech Teams:

1. Yi Sung-Eung (*1864 - +1930)
A self-made business man who did much in improving management and working conditions. He traded in Oil, Paper, construction equipment and things of daily need.
Here my proposal:
- Available from 1897 until end
- Skill 2 in Management, Industrial Engeneering, General Equipment and Social Theory

2. Chi Sok-Jong (*1855 - +1935)
A doctor who was teached in Japan and did much to improve the medical situation in Korea when he returned. He brought the vaccination against the pox to Korea and teached medicine after he became the chief doctor of a medical school in Soul in 1899.
Thus my porposal:
- Available from 1899 until end
- Skill 1 in Chemistry, Social Theory and Training

What do you think about them ?

No more changes to the tech trees, please. I don't want to have to update scenario 1911 for a 3rd time. (Do I sound like a weary and beaten man?)

And there's nothing really left to change anyway. The Land did the naval doctrine tree, and him, being British, would know any naval doctrine the best. And I even admit the industrial tech tree needed some rework (which in turn was major) to balance out the lapse in time from 1897 to 1911. But please, no more changes in the tech trees!

I guess this is more nitpicking then really needed for the mod to be awesome(which, btw it is)

but (in .42), i noticed some things

first, that Armored Cruisers are only researched in one little bit, and then it moves on to Heavy Cruisers, however Armored Cruisers were still being designed up until 1908, and the last were completed in 1910, while the first "Heavy" Cruiser came around in about 1915(as far as i know), so why is the Armored Cruiser so limited? alternativly, Armored Cruisers were often much more heavily armed then Heavy Cruisers, and had thicker armor(if not quite as effective?), so i was thinking they could possibly be made part of a Battlecruiser tech tree

on a less important but probably easier to 'fix' note, in the Netherland's tech, the class of Dreadnought is "De Zeven Provincien" which bothers me because that class of ship was a Pre-Dreadnought design, and a weaker one at that, and in the Greek tree, they have a Averoff listed as an Early Heavy Cruiser, when it was an Armored Cruiser...

last, but certainly least, i would love(due to my despising building Light Cruiser and bigger ships that don't have names), to have the Dingyuan and other heavy Chinese Warships names added to their lists for Pre-Dreadnoughts.

alright, nitpicking finished for now.

Is this where I go if I have TT's to offer?

I have 4 Industrial TT's for Siam (with pictures).

Huh?

Sarcasm yet again?

Ahh, I see.

Thankyou then. Sorry for my rudeness.

Is it possible that I could become a project memeber, all I coudl do would be to do things like come up with TT's, but it's fun to me.

There isn't such a thing as a list of who is a project member and who isn't. There was, once upon a time, but we stopped using it. Just stay active and send things to manstein for inclusion and you will be a "mod member".

Russian tech teams need an overhaul. In 1914 their numbers are small and they are quite bad(although historically many were bad).

A tean representing "IZHMASH" need to be added. I can investigate others.

However, what about teams that are in Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and other countries that have potential to later became independent. Some industrial complexes from these countries were important to the Imperial Russia and could potentially represent tech teams. Could they be shown and through the event that notifies Russia of their independence, removed?

Is it proper to complain about some countries having too powerful tech teams compared to their rivals which were on the same technological level?

BTW. Where did Allenby go?
