We all miss Allenby ;) But I think he reads over the latest threads sometimes.

Now back to topic: We can sleep ukrainian-, belarussian- and other Techteams via event, when the revolution breaks out or the peace of Brest Litovsk is signed. So if you would like to look for new techteams for these countries, we really appriciate that ;)

Russian tech teams need an overhaul. In 1914 their numbers are small and they are quite bad(although historically many were bad).

... snip ...

Is it proper to complain about some countries having too powerful tech teams compared to their rivals which were on the same technological level?

BTW. Where did Allenby go?

It is proper to discuss every aspect of the mod, that´s what makes this community so interesting.

If we observe the results of playing, especially the longer scenarios like 1897 and 1911 we find that Russia closes up to all others technologically. Combined with a huge army, they become a steamroller.

At the moment we shold actually slow Russia down rather than speed it up technologically. There are a number of unkown effects that may (or may not) get into the mod in the future:

If we add more techs, research time will increase and various countries will begin to fall behind (as thy should).

If we dissolve the alliances (I have just finished taking Italy out of the alliance with Germany and A-H and hope to post the results soon) there will be less tech sharing and actual research capabilities will count more.

In the special case of Russia, we might upgrade tech teams over time, i.e. sleep a tech team and wake a tech team with the same name and picture but increased capabilities. If you can make suggestions for Russian tech teams that improved significantly in capability and name a date where we can change them, this would be great.

I was noticing the exact smae thing more or less as FinNotsk. In the 1897 scenario, things work out (more or less) as they did historically I find when it comes to the actual Great War when other events don't derail it. However, with the 1911 and especially 1914 scenarios the Great Retreat event -always- fires in October 1914 instead of much later, and within 8-10 weeks of that Leningrad is invariably taken. Is there a way maybe to increase Russian IC somewhat so that they don't get stuck with an entire army of 1860 Militia and 1895 Infantry against the 400+ divisions I find that Germany and AH smash into Russia?

As a complete aside to that, however, are there any plans to implement minimum IC levels for all nations (maybe 20) so that everyone might be able to get at least one tech team slot, as well as a few generic teams themselves? I'm especially looking at the Philippines, Cuba, Poland, the Baltic States, and a few others that by and large seem to be lacking any teams at all. Did you change the thresholds anywhere for slots by chance?

There is no way to change the slot limits. There are just a significant number of countries that have no tech teams and thus no research. Anybody who jumps in and helps is highly welcome!

Alright, but what I was more getting at was the fact that most of those nations have less than 20 IC, and thus no slots to even put teams in. That they have no teams even if they had the slots is somewhat irrelevant to what I was trying to get at.

That said, if I have the time between the Central America stuff for MDS and college, I'll create a few teams for them.

Unless I am completely mistaken you get one slot from 0 to 19 IC up to five slots above 80 IC.

But please work on the Central American teams, it would be a great help.

Every country gets at least one slot, weither they have any IC or not.
Furthermore, you get one extra slot for 20, 40, 60 and 80 IC. That's hardcoded.

Ah. Okay. In that case, I guess that many nations are actually lacking teams.

Speaking of which - where can I find a master list of nation tags for the upcoming version?

I do not expect that there will be any new nations in 0.5, so you can work with the tags of 0.43.

I've got three tech teams done - for the Philippines so far. Its technically one tech team, but I divided it into three since they moved twice and changed their name in 1926. Any other suggestion beyond the Philippines Military Academy/Philippines Constabulary Academy? I'm thinking a generic "ministry of agriculture" for a few industrial techs - namely Industry, management and chemistry.

EDIT: Also, I coudln't find anywhere the tech team ranges for the nations. I found the master event list ranges, and the master tag list, but nothing for team ranges.

It seems that originally the tech teams were numbered in alphabetical sequence up to 99XXX.

If you have a country for which no tech team id exists, choose the leader id according to Manstein´s ID generator:

http://1914.thomas-ney.com/id-generators/ministers.php?country=PHI

PHI leaders are 650000 to 654999 so makke the tech teams 650000 to 650002.

Alright then. I've managed 6 tech teams for the Philippines - should be more than enough.

For those wonderring:

Philippines Military Academies (1905-1908, 1908-1926) level 4
Philippines Constabulary Academy (1926 - 1947) level 5
Philippines Ministry of Agriculture (1897 - 1947) level 5
Square Bingham & Co (1911 - 1956) level 3
Manila Electrical Railroad and Light Company (1915 - 1947) level 4

I'll put up the file later today after I get some decent sleep. Its 2 am here and I just got back from a party...so yeah.

I'm by no means an expert on the Phillys, but thos numbers seem quite high for a minor Asian country, but maybe they got a lot of help from the US? Those tech teams are almost as good as the Italian tech teams in vanilla HoI2 :p

Forget about tech teams - what about adding Generals? I played as Greece, and the two faceless Mj. Generals they have cannot gain experience for whatever reason.

Greece has ONE General who gains experience, and that isnt enough.

Is this mod still going?

I've gathered about 6 TT's for Siam, 4 for Korea, and about 5 for The Ottoman Empire. I've had them for a long time but I have spare time now and can actually do the work to research them, if the mod is still going.

Sure, you should publish your research. In current development stage following teams in Korea present:

Roger, I'll get them up soon.

I don't know anything about the coding things, but if I give the Picture and Skill/Traits can someone make them?
