Yesterday i bought Europa Universalis 2, italian version.

I have Windows XP, Athlon 500, GeForce 2 GTS, driver 43.45, Asus mother board, Sb Live 5.1 Player...

When I play , about every 5-10 minutes, the games halts... i don't know hot to explain... I cant move the mouse, the games stops.. it's like crashed except for the music... after about 10-20 seconds, I can move the mouse again, and i can play on...

Sometimes, before the game crashes, the monitor flashes for a while, and then the "crash".
It's the only game having this problem, so i think it's something like an hardware conflict, or a windows option... i read that the game sometimes has problems with winxp... just ytell me what to do plz...

The game is original, i istalled the 1.07 patch, and i had the same problem before using the patch...

Plz help me, because i cant really play this way :p

How much RAM do you have? and how much free space on your hardrive?

Try upgrading you winxp as much as possibly, esp your directX

You are pretty light on RAM to run XP and EU2 at once, IMO XP itself needs 512mb to run nicely. If you have any possibility of getting up to 512mb or more you should do it.

You should also update to directx 9.0a .

I remember there was a problem with earlier patch and the Italian version.
It doesn't seem to be the same problem as you are experiencing, but it could be related...

the problem was some translation errors in a file called "text.csv".

I know they didn't fix it in 1.06, but I have no idea about 1.07.
Anyway, it might not hurt to try, here is the thread where it was discussed:

Okay, sorry for the delay, MrT is away for awhile.

First thing to try is renaming your EU2 AVI folder to AVI_back.
