I think vassals are the wrong way to go as the Timurids. Since you have MongolTech, when you reach the edge of your current core lands you'll start getting new cores for free that you can then conquer and WD into your empire. Also I'm not sure if it's imageshack or me again but the first image link is dead (under the conversation section) and the last image is showing the old Chatagai peace treaty rather than Khorasan.

I was exactly planning that with infamy -1.60' per year, which I think is pretty good.
Also an expedition to Arabia/Najd might happen...

Yeah, that's pretty impressive infamy burn, might as well make the most of it!

Chapter 2: The Dream of the Silk Road: The End of the Beginning...

With the expansion of the Empire, new people were integrated: Persian was the most widespread culture in Iran and it was seen as part of our Empire.

Meanwhile, the new Khorasani government sent us fresh recruits to send against our enemies.

As the news of the new recruits reached Temur in Baluchistan, he was bravely fighting the coward Baluchistani... After a small skirmish the enemy army had surrendered, hoping to be saved, but Temur ordered to kill them.

The first siege in Baluchistani land ended after just a month: certainly the Khivani, who were sieging the eastern lands of Baluchistan, were capable warriors, but nobody matched Temur and his men.

Also some good news arrived concerning the economical situation of the Empire.

A Baluchistani delegation reached Temur, seeking a white peace. He accepted because Baluchistan wasn't ready for his invasion: he wanted to end the war as quickly as possible to march against other foes that were more "succulent" and close to the borders of the Empire. Soon after white peace was signed with the remaining enemies, Najd and Bengal.

As soon as peace was signed, Temur started looking at his Empire and was quite happy to have found a great majority of Sh'ia followers in Merv... The perfect example for the others... He sent a missionary group to the city and start focusing on the region because it was a strategic area for him.

Due to this decision, tensions with our ally, Khiva, started to grow. The alliance was starting to crumble.

It was the end of the beginning: the Gates of the Silk Road were slowly beign conquered by Temur...

From Hebei Dadu to Konstantinopol, you are still far from finished. :p
Well... The Gates of the Silk Road in this AAR means the area from the Caspian Sea to the Hindu Kush, from Samarqand to Kabul: the gateway from Asia to Europe and vice versa. ;)
This is approximately Temur's objective...

Remember that the Timurids have two main final goals, Persia or the Mughals. You won't be able to remain a Mongol powerhouse forever.
Given the current theme, I found it interesting to note that someone slipped some Silk Road bonuses into the new version of MEIOU.

That is quite a modest goal for Timur. IRL he owned all of Central Asia, beat Golden Horde, beat Ottomans, conquered most of Mesopotamia, Iranian plateau and Hindukush, whilst planning to invade China during his last years. Had he not died, he would probably have crushed Ming.

Well, I can't form neither Persia nor Mughals (in the National Decisions section there is nothing).
I will change government sooner or later obviously... When I can though.
The Persia decision becomes visible once you make it to the provinces south of the Caspian. The Mughal decision becomes visible once you make it to the area around Delhi but there's also a special event for the Timurids if you control certain key provinces (I won't say them to avoid spoilers) that lets you change too..

Bad news...
The computer on which I had EU3 started having some problems and now I have lost all the stuff I had inside, AAR savegames included, so I guess this is the end of this AAR...

A good news is that I'm going to start an AAR on CK2 (maybe vanilla or maybe Elder Kings, still thinking) using my laptop. Maybe another EU3 AAR will come in September.
