Hi I've been playing Paradox games for a while now but this is my first time posting on the forums.

I recently purchased Rome and vea victis as a package on steam, the game seemed to be working fine as I selected my starting country, year etc, but on entering the campaign map I immediately noticed a major error with the terrain map.

As you can see the various land textures have been replaced with sea, sea and more sea. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a couple of times, and I've fiddled with my graphics settings but the problem doesn't want to go away.

I've considered messing around with the graphics files in the map folder but having no idea how any of these files really work I figured I'd best leave them alone for now.

I suppose the problem isn't really game breaking, the political, trade, etc. maps all seem to be working fine, but it is fairly annoying and rather confusing, and any solution would be greatly appreciated. ;)

Open Steam, click on EU: Rome, click "Properties". Go to the "Local Files" tab and click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache".

Seen this problem on here before, doing this fixed it most of the time.

Thanks mate. Did what you said and it's cleared the problem right up. :)

I've only been using steam for a couple of weeks, I never even considered there would be a way to fix things so easily from within the steam client itself. Think it would have taken me a long, long time to sort this out without you to point me in the right direction ;)
