Intelligence is broken - the famous "262472472747 spies" issue

Music is not included. Playlist event thus not functioning.

Cuba has "Improved construction engineering" while the USA not? They gave me the blueprint in Jan 36.

Moving the consumer goods slider in production screen doesn't show the daily dissent progress properly. There is always +0.00.

What is your historical source for the 4% dissent hit to the USA for the Nanjing event???

I really don't believe that the average American gave a rat's ass what happen to a foreigner in Asia at that time. They were too concerned with the failure of Roosevelt's socialist New Deal in 1938 and the 10% dissent hit from that.

Why is there such a severe manpower shortage in the 1936 and later period in the US? Economics 101 teaches that when the unemployment rate is between 15-25%, there is a manpower SURPLUS, not a manpower shortage.

What techs are needed to get improved CAG's? I can't find anything on it in the changelog unless I just missed it.

In March 1939 there are 1077 million spies (Commies no doubt) operating in the US. Sounds like Joe McCarthy got wasn't makings thing up!

Where is it described exactly what naval logistic does? It is a new concept for HOI and need some sort of description. I can't find it snywhere in the changelog or readme unless I just missed it.

In Jan 1936 Phillippines have Improved construction engineering and Cuba has basic oil refining while the USA don't. I recommend to remove those techs from them or give them to the USA.

Where can I find the limitation production numbers? It was included somewhere in an extra txt, wasn't it?

I launched a new US game with a hotfix for espionage.

Speaking of espionage, I think that all nations now start with 0 level. Also, there is the line "Counter spy" instead of "Decrease intelligence..."

Fernando, you were asking about the exact slider moves caused by events.

I had +1 interventionism in Nov 37 - Nanking massacre
+1 hawk lobby in Sep 39 - War in Europe
+1 hawk and +1 inter - Jun 40 - French surrender
+1 inter - Jul 40 - undeclared war
+1 hawk - Jul 40 - Lend-lease act
+3 hawk and +3 inter - Dec 41 - Surprise attack

Important

Lend lease act for the Soviet Union is called "Manhattan project". Also, when you choose nominal aid, the event keeps appearing every several days.

The USA has weird low balance of money. I think that "Stock market crash" reduced money production which was never restored to normal parameters.

It is not that terrible since the US has many dissent hit events which force a player to produce extra money.

But with 450 IC I have -3 money deficit a day.

Finally, how can I get CAGs newer than CAG-1 model? :) It revealed as a secret tech and I don't see what I should I do get better ones.

First: please, I repost this:

Thank you, Lend-Lease events have been fixed. The balance of money might be due to your intelligence slider.

As a side note, do you think I should increase US ICs ? (since some ICs are transfered via Lend-Lease)

Intelligence slider?

It is strange. I can't imagine what can cause -4 money balance with 440 IC, especially as the USA.

I have intelligence level 13. I started with zero level, I guess as everyone else.

My hypothesis: I remember that before 1.3 patch I had to buy money as Germany to ensure that I have enough stockpile for several years. In 1.3 patch vanilla game there is no problem with money as Germany. Thus, I think that 1.3 patch increased production of money to adapt it to the new intel system, so this can be the trick.

US IC:

I think it is good as it is. Yes, the USA was an enormous powerhouse compared to Germany and Soviet Union combined. In real life, the US GDP was double size the GDP of both them together.

But, we should take into account that the USA was not fully transformed to war machine just like Germany, SU or GB.

I would recommend increasing the US IC in one case - if Germany beats SU. I would increase the US IC to at least 750 in such a case.

So I would set the US base IC somewhere to 600 but let it fully unleash only in the worst-case scenario - SU defeated.

In my game it looks like the SU could be really beaten - see for yourself:

Japanese progress so far:

I just started massive production of armors. I plan to invade Germany first to help the SU and then do the job in the Pacific theatre. Just like in history...

I know you did. I would like to know how good does the mandchurian AI do against China (please use F12+nofog if necessary).

About CAGs, you need fighters/interceptors and naval bombers techs.

I will post some nofog screenshots tomorrow. For now I can say that the Soviet Union will be probably defeated, mainly because, for some reason , they have 60 divs in Leningrad and their South East was practically uncovered.

Also, why do the Soviets have 50 IC in Karaganda? All transfer of industry went there? :) It is in Kazahstan but it makes them very vulnerable because they didn't protect the South.

CAGs - I research interceptors and naval bombers, not fighters. From your post I assume that it should be enough but I still have the first model (some two-deckers :D ). Are fighter techs necessary too?

Check db/events/secret_weapons.txt

Seems that I need either naval bombers or int+ftr techs. I ignored ftr techs but I already have improved naval bombers. According to the file, I should get a new model with basic naval bombers. Strange, I will try researching fighters too.

Here are some screenshots from the late 1942. It shows the German onslaught for the heart of Soviet industry - Karaganda :)

(Fernando, if you want any detail screenshots, let me know which area you would like to see).

And the Japanese furious progress throughout Asia - annexed Australia, Allied troops nearly trapped in India and Burma, possible meeting of Germans and Japanese in Afghanistan...

Japan2.jpg

Japan3.jpg

I invaded Germany through Netherlands with my whole army - 50 divs in August 43.

Germany and SU are now crippled by lack of supplies for their hundreds divisions and low TC. Germany has 50 IC and SU 70.

Japan annexed Persia, Oman, Yemen and is now fighting GB in Persia.

It looks that I will have to ride through Siberia to annex Germany since SU is not capable of it.

I will deal with the Japanese by a massive airborne attack together with nukes. I am now waiting for secret tech A-bomb and am researching paratroopers and air transports.

There is no chance to beat 400 Japanese divisions with 0.9 manpower growth in land battles in India or China.
