We are low on events on both, especially with Hungary and with the later centuries with the Teutonic Order. Please post any ideas you have in this thread. Top priority on those two, please.:)

What about a sequence for the TO, where they might have to release Danzig as a vassal, with this graphics:
danzig.gif

They could as well have to lose german culture, to try to stop them to want to expand into germany (we don't want that, right?). Danzig is the only core province with german culture btw.

Does it need to be something they especially have to do? Giving player options to choose from instead of throwing crap at him without him having any say in the matter is not too fun imo. Compare to spanish backrupcy events of vanilla game. Maybe trying to stay with germans in might provoke angry response from some more major group or perhaps cause bad decentralization and such? Maybe TO could release Danzig with Hansa's urging and by that way gain something appropriate in return?

I like the idea of Danzig especially as a troublemaker for both the TO and the Hansa in the long run (as they were historically)

Hmm..

We have 3 options:

1.) Danzig is indepedent from the start but a TO vassal who gives headaches.
2.) Danzig gives headaches to the Hanseatic League and thus the HL demands Danzig to be given into her custodity to "deal" with her, TO gets benefit from that.
3.) Danzig is with TO and is motivated by the TO to give Hansa troubles if Hansa turns prot and TO stays catholic.

Opinions?

I favour number 1, because then we can remove german culture from TO and say that while they say to be Teutonic Order, their membership has been practically assimilated into baltics culturally.

Could you send me the graphics for Danzig, so I put her in?

Thanks.

I have some significant ideas concerning the Teutonic Order. Archduke willing, I'd love to just take charge of the event file and see what I can put together.

Some general thoughts, comments, etc:

1) Removing german culture is probably a sound decision.
2) If we are going to release Danzig, let's do it by event and try to make the various choices all valid ones.
3) I would very much like to remove Freidrich von Hohenzollern from the Bavaria leader file and place him in the Teuton leader file. I would also like to make him Grandmaster during the same timeperiod.

For lack of a better reason, I just want to say that it feels appallingly wrong having Fredrick the Great as someone's chump general. If he isn't going to be a ruler, he should be removed entirely.

4) There should be options for the Order to crusade in Russia and Bohemia. A Teutonic crusade in russia, fiercely opposed by Finland, Ukraine, and possibly the Golden Horde would make a nice epochal conflict. I have some ideas in these areas, obviously.

Food for thought, I hope. Cheers all.

Do they have russian culture? Maybe have an event that gives them some eastern culture while giving up Danzig and german culture?

Yup, encouragement to go east is an option, but I am highly inclined to let them loose german culture for good.

So russian culture per event is an idea, but question is, when?

If we are going to give the Teutonic Order russian culture we should give Finland and Ukraine the opportunity to get it also. It would be very strange if the TO and the Golden Horde were the best equipped nations to rule Russia, better than any nation of the same religion as the area.

Edit: Been doing a little thinking regarding russian culture and the Teutonic Order. I think the earliest they should be able to get the culture is 1555. This is the time of Finland's major military reformations and the conflict over the baltic regions. We should give the TO's major competitor a chance to get its feet under it before we start a major conflict in the region.

Finland could get russian by reaction event, if Teutons go for an event option of "Crusade to Russia" giving it. Something like "Russians call for help" or something. Ukraine could get it too. That way nobody gains russian automatically and if Ukraine and / or Finland are going strong, Teutonic player might choose to pass russian culture to not get Finland and Ukraine on it.

More country interaction that way too.

Yup, I think Russia will go along the lines of Gaul.

Be divided.

Noone had a heart with Hungary, so i had, too.:D

Ok, got some, now.
