Kaiser Bill, shdwknightx, Allenby and Steele should check their PM-boxes here at the forum. There is a message telling you what to do to get your hands on the version. StephenT, your PM-box seems to be disabled and I didn't save your e-mail adress (stupid  ) so you'll have to activate your box or tell me your email again. :)

Why do I make the first distribution this way? To save bandwidth, to have some surprises left when whe release an alpha, to be plain evil? I won't tell. :D

If anyone wants this version and has a legimit reason, he'll get it.

/Johan

Um Elisson, for some reason I get this error when I try to download the member version.

HTTP1.1 STATUS 403 Remote Access to this object forbidden This file cannot be directly accessed from a remote site, but must be linked through the Brinkster Member's site.

Just copying and pasting worked. Thanks Elisson.

I offer you my services as translator from eng to italian.
(Just in case you needed one)
(So that I might also test the mod...)
;)

Can barely wait....

Well done in compiling the test version!

This probably isn't the right place or time for this but...

...don't Britain have rather too many infantry divisions ready for use in the home islands? :p

Just wanted you to know that it installed fine, and that there were no problems with it.

However, I did notice straight off that there seems to be something wrong with Austro-Hungry's flag...In the country selection and on the straregic map.

That is because I didn't include any graphics (isn't needed for gameplay), which would have made the zip-file grow to about 12 MB... All "undefined countries" (U00-U19, i.e. A-H, Najd, Hedjaz, Mexican Rebels) has no flag in original HoI but I've got all flags we need. :)

Yeah... Just added all divisions that where created before October (or something) 1914. This is not the final OOB. :D We'll probably add those reserve divisions by events or something?

/Johan

The version BTW includes a beta war-starting event chain (if you hadn't discovered that yet) and some basic AI-files for Germany, A-H and Russia (just tried out a little modding to those files), and beta tech trees for infantry, cavalry/armor, electronics, home front, submarine, artillery and land doctrine.

/Johan

ummm... I live in a dumpster is that legit? :D I would also like to see if any of my commanders were put in and see how they are working is that legit? But most of all I just wanna play it:rolleyes:

Lastly if I can't download the version than can u send me the ai files here so i can take a sneak peek?

One last question, did u guys go with the load screen that the one guy put up in the graphics forum?

Hi TGW team. I am Shogun 144 and I am a good events person. I would like to look over this version to see If I can help with how the events sound and what they do. I admit that I am not the best, but I am getting good an event writing and event triggers.

Thanks in advance for taking this under consideration. Also I have been following this project since its conception and I hope to make some(no matter how small) contribution to this project.

Yeah I gave a good look over the tech tree, it looks pretty good so far. Although it looks like you haven't put in all the techs, and information/bonuses for each tech yet. But it still looks good.

Oh that would explain that then (about the flag that is), just wondered if you knew/forgot something.

Did you include a unrestricted submarine warfare tech in TGW yet? It didn't look like you had put in the the naval doctrines yet. If so do you happen to know what its tech ID is.

neither of the reasons given are enough to give you the test version (it isn't playable, so don't worry about that), since those things (checking events, AI, leaders) can be done without the whole version.

The loading screen and that are the work of StephenT.

The AI-files are just put together to make Germany, A-H and Russia place their divisions on the right borders. They do not include any Schlieffen Plans or anything. AI will probably be done by JosipT and N!ightY and if they won't be able to do it, I will give it a try.

No, I haven't done any extensive tweaking to the techs (i.e. not changed any cost or time yet) and not added bonuses for them all either, and some bonuses will most certainly change. The Unrestricted Submarine Warfare is in, but I haven't made any try at that tech tree yet (just listed possible techs in no special order) so you'll have to do with the fictionary number of 13xxx for a while...

/Johan

Thanks Elisson. I shall use lets say 13015 for the Urestricted Submarine Warfare doctrine.

I presume the test version was favourable for the defence. I was Austria-Hungary and a battle in Belgrade between 23 A-H divisions and 6 Serbian divisions lasted a year and a half. :D

The July Crisis seemed to go rather quickly as well. Austria declared war on Serbia and Russia and France at the same time, when in fact these declarations of war came a little later. So perhaps the DOWs could be spread over a few days as opposed to a single - if possible, of course.

On the whole, it's coming along and I'm rather impressed. :)
