The July Crisis seemed to go rather quickly as well. Austria declared war on Serbia and Russia and France at the same time, when in fact these declarations of war came a little later. So perhaps the DOWs could be spread over a few days as opposed to a single - if possible, of course.

On the whole, it's coming along and I'm rather impressed. :)

Since countries have no techs researched, it means that units are pretty useless running on their "base" stats. :) That's why you lost. :p It will surely work out pretty well with high defense and low attack, and the battles will be a bit shorter. :D

The DOWs can't be altered much... Since France and Russia are in the alliance from the beginning. To say it out straight: It is a heck of a job to make it work with a delay between each event.

Well, first impression is that I'm impressed, although we need to remember to have supply convoys set up for all those colonial outposts...

However, there was something about the French army that just bugged me, so I decided to have a play with Photoshop:

I've also discovered that editing sprites is incredibly long-winded and tedious...:(
Also, we have to do something to stop the Belgians building fighter wings and mechanised divisions in 1914. :D

Red Pantaloons!!!! Awesome love it StephenT...we have to keep those!

I concur I was really impressed with the length and the amount of MP it took for the Austrians (Me in a test run) to take Belgrade. But as I mentioned in a previous thread once I took Belgrade I could annex Serbia....this needs to be reworked...but for a pre-alpha it is going pretty good.

As said earlier, don't expect the battles to be realistic, since I haven't really worked on that area (giving units stats that makes them fight realistic) yet. :)

Good to see the French soldiers with their Pantalon Rouge - but don't forget their cavalry, sporting their Napoleonic uniforms virtually unchanged since Waterloo :)

I just love those Frenchies!

Any hope for any pickehaubs. Aw, go on... please...

If anyone wants this version and has a legimit reason, he'll get it.

If you need temp. d/l site, I can offer to host it for you with 5MB free space...

I was going through the version and noticed some descrepancies in the techs. I am unsure if they are just unfinished or there are bugs in them.

Playing as Germany, I noticed that their regular infantry should have a hard attack of 1, a soft attack of 3, and a defense of 7. But they only had a soft attack of 1 and a defense of 2...Which leads me to believe that there are some bugs.

Also the German calvary should have a defense of 2 instead of 1 going by the techs Germany has.

I didn't write down the defensive techs but the techs that contribute to soft attack values that Germany had were: 70mm Field Artillery, Light Mortar, bolt-action rifle, and quick firing artillery supplies the one hard attack value.

The two techs for cavalry were bolt-action carbine and basic load bearing sadle, which both give a +1 to defense and soft attack.

I've downloaded my version some days ago from the url Stephen told me.

And I have a stupid question : Why no leaders appear in every country even if there are correct leader files. It is important for me because my next event set needs some leader for testing
