Just a quick post to say thanks for bringing back 40 minute 10v10 games

Often posts are started when some bone needs picking so i thought its only fair to have one that expresses my sincere appreciation of this small but highly significant change (in the fun factor)

SD 44 is a great game, best WW2 tactical since 'Close Combat 2 - A Bridge to Far' imvho
(now there are some dynamic scenario/campaign ideas hint, hint)

Sure balancing will be an ongoing mission but with the road map of future content announced im sure this game will just get better an better.

my 2 cents

and cheers.

I mean poor taste in elderly sims aside (Achtung Panzer or get out), I agree. You devs have stepped it up on the communication front in the past few days and I think we all appreciate that. Also the road map.

CC3 is the one which hooked me on the series.
My favorite is the 5 though, the more balanced with mostly infantry and the armors restricted to what they should be in the series: support.

The more recent games felt like the number of units you get in a battle didn't scale properly with the much larger battle maps. Gateway To Caen has been particularly bad for it - feels like it takes ages to find the enemy force and you could use one inf squad to capture 75% of the map because it was empty. I've played every one of them though, fantastic series.

3 is what hooked me too. I still play the updated "Cross of Iron" version.

5 is great and all the mods make it even better. Just so much great stuff. There's nothing like a CC grand campaign. I'm about to start one this month after a several year break.

Close Combat 3 was my R&R in Iraq for 15 months, I think it was the best one of the series.
I tried to get into Caen/Panthers in the Fog, nope. Glad you guys made this game, exactly where CC should have gone.
We used to play CC4 & CC5 at work too with some colleagues ... during lunch pause. Call it our R&R.
We gave Panthers in the Fog a (very) short try, but it didn't feel like the old days.
