That is so good to hear!Mm. The issue with video Aars remain then...
Troubling because of course it is a big part of Paradox fan culture now and yet no room for it on the forums...
Oh, and I should apologise for not voting. Rather excitingly, I was busy being told all my results were green and I'm very possibly never going back into that hospital bed.
Rest assured, I am very up for anything spontaneously creative in the aar community about now.
Tbf it is mostly hoi4 at the moment but still, a lot of people tried ckii because of meme videos/absurdist storylinesI mean the only one I saw was the one OfficiallyDevin did with Robert of Maine.
That is so good to hear!Fantastic news!
As for creative, well, I have two AARs going on now...

I have a something I have been wondering about posting for a while. I shall do so and see what interest there is.Was thinking more of a writers challange or something.
Maybe writing a scene from another AAR or a crossover with multiple authors? I probably sound like an idiot right now.

I've had an idea of something like that knocking around for a while. It was following a conflict/era through multiple newspaper reports, all from different papers in different countries. Set in Vicki 2, late game when things have gone properly off the rails and you have lots of interesting ideologies and government configurations to play with. It would work something like;Mm...oh that could be good if we can sustain it. Multiple styles and voices, sometimes insane sometimes great plots and characters...
What would the prompt/idea be though?
Part the reason that I held open the vote until I returned from Austin. I knew I'd have the next day off so I was able to get everything counted fairly easily. Plus, I like to get the announcements out there so people can thank their voters and bask in their victories....and a special thanks to @coz1 for both taking on this task and for managing to get the results out so rapidly.

#1 Report from the state run paper in a fascist country A about a Crisis looming, written in a bombastic but not very informative style.
#2 Liberal paper in Neutral country B tries to explain the crisis, but gets distracted by blatantly disliking one side's government.
#3 Socialist paper in Country C has a column denouncing Country A's unprovoked aggression while glossing over country C's actions that may have provoked it.
#4 Underground communist news-sheet from Country A tries to reveal 'the truth' about the crisis but gets stuck in a rabbit hole of trying to make the problem fit with party theory.
#5 Centre-right paper in Country D runs an opinion piece on the escalating crisis that tries to link it to past conflicts but mostly ends up with the author boasting about how great they were in the last war.
Something like that would work as a Shared World with several authors. Game is played to a certain point, everyone interested gets a copy of the save and if they have the time and inclination writes a short pieces and posts it. Then the game is advanced another period (week / month or whatever) and go again.
Could work in something other than Vicki 2 if that would get more writers interested. I think the HOI era is a bit too on rails to work well, but maybe CK2 and competing monastic chronicles and court authors could work if that is the preference?
Funnily enough I actually had considered writing a Vicky II AAR based around newspaper barons so this does sound pretty cool.![]()
If we did it, I'd prefer to keep it public just as it is now. Really no change other than to leave the last two as a poll to follow. Maybe make it a bit more exciting.Would you make it a secret ballot? That is, say to you as PMs?
It was more for the suspense factor and as it was going to be done off a short list as a different process. Otherwise, I agree, not sure if the extra effort (for @coz1 and voters) would be worth it? The current preferential system seems very comprehensive. It would be a bit more work for the organiser and does risk over-shadowing the Q4 / Q1 ACAs even further. But the ACAs stalled a bit last year, so perhaps that isn't a big problem?
Overall I like the idea, as long as @coz1 doesn't mind the extra work of running a two stage award process. I'd also keep it a public ballot, everyone is already openly voting in the current method so I'm not sure what secrecy would add apart from a bit more work for the poor organiser.
