<the crowd is looking with tired eyes but in relief, having survived the previous deliriums>
<the studio succumbs to darkness, the gulps are audible>

<a flashing round object descends from the ceiling; the crowd gasps>
<a gigantic stage becomes visible. On the wall beyond, screening begins>

Just another forumite on a Satuday night
Lookin' for the words of dreams
In the real time world no one sees those at all
They all say they’re crazy

Locking rhythms to the beat of visions
Changing movement into light
They’ve danced into the danger zone
When the dancer becomes the dance

It can cut you like a knife
If passion becomes the fire
On a wire between will and what will be

They’re maniacs, maniacs on the keyboard
And words are dancing like they‘ve never danced before
They’re maniacs, maniacs on the keyboard
And words are dancing like they‘ve never danced before

On the ice-blue line of insanity
Is a place most never see
It's a hard-won place of mystery
Touch it, but can't hold it

Coz1 works all of the words, Werther paints them as art
Le Jones conjures details
, Macavity delivers to sky
Chilango is the virtuoso
, but Streaker sets limit high
Eludio and RustyHunter’ll jumpstart your heart

There's TBC’s kinetic heat
Dunaden’s tales for the beat
Never stopping with the dreams beyond limits

They’re
maniacs, maniacs, of the words
And the stories are dancing like never before
They’re maniacs, maniacs, of the words
And the stories are dancing like never before

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-
[§]

With Uriah, hjarg, Peter Ebbesen
More so alpherbe(thegamer), Side, Khanconette
Also rover(S3) and slothinator, HistoryDude and Bullfilter
quinzal, jak(7139), nax(24), and stnylan
Not to forget LPDK
(356) and jasondroth(24)
But of course always Revan(86)

They’re maniacs, maniacs on the keyboard
And their words are flying like never walked before

They’re maniacs, maniacs on the keyboard
And Von Acturus is flaming like
a star’s core

Maniac, maniac, on the keyboard
And they’re dancing like they’ve never danced before
Maniac, maniac, on the keyboard

And they’re dancing like they’ve never danced before
Maniac, maniac [*]

[*] Appropriated from Maniac of the album Bossa Nova Hotel by Michael Sembello (1983).

Original lyrics are written by Dennis Matkosky, which are unusually of interesting quality for a generic song of the disco era, and it was actually used for the soundtrack of the film Flashdance (a. Jennifer Beals, d. Adrian Lyne, 1983).
The fifth verse of the original lyrics, which were completely replaced to include the wonderful writAARs of the list, are as follows:
[ You work all your life for that moment in time | It could come or pass you by |
It's a push-shove world, but there's always a chance | If the hunger stays the night ].

[§] The music video of Maniac, with scenes from the film Flashdance. It was the first to usher the era of consistent-story within music videos of soundtracks, with associated lyrics.

Edit: Added missing the line.

I don't know how you do it, but kudos once again. I didn't think you could top We Didn't Start the Fire but you've done it.
