Great AAR, really got me interested in EU3 again. Although I have to say the early centuries are the best, where you have to think carefully about every move. I think your first victory over Portugal was really impressive given the circumstances and that set you up for the WC possibility. Also very informative discussions about army compositions, though Im still puzzled about that aspect of the game. The fact you never had artillery is really puzzling me, wouldn't it have been easier to storm all those fortresses if you had artillery?

Anyway, great accomplishment!

AWESOMEE!! (just finished reading)
btw; what was your BB at the end of the game?

Quebec’s Quest for Independence – January 1796

That’s such an utterly silly demand I can only assume that there are student politicians involved. Haven’t these guys noticed they are the authorities? As for the Polish uprising *shakes head*

Art imitates life.

As requested, I've started another AAR.

Yes We Can! - A France IN AAR
Can I conquer the world without breaking the BB limit?

That should be self-explanatory ;)

Heya. My apologies if this has been asked already. I've read up to page 17 with no pictures. It's been riveting, even without them. But, uh, why can't I see the pictures? Has Photobucket taken them down?

The images come and go as Photobucket has a 10GB download limit per month on free accounts (down from 25GB when I was writing this). The reset day is either the 22nd or the 24th IIRC. All I can say is try reading again after that date, the AAR doesn't make a lot of sense without the screenshots.

Clearly I'm still getting a lot of traffic!

Later screenies were hosted with Imageshack. I now use Tinypic for the new AAR.

WOW 300,000+ views Crazy, love you guys! (not that way;))

You need some image manipulation software. I believe, from memory, he was using GIMP - a freeware graphics tool.

Of course you need a touch of artistic talent as well - which is why I've never bothered.

I think also good one is photoshop and adobe acrobat - but i think those are not freeware... but maybe they are just better.

I use Gimp, which is free and powerful, but the interface does take some getting used to. Adobe PS is definitely nicer to use, if you can afford it/think it's worthwhile for just AAR art.

It is not acrobat i meant... but i forget the name... of the tool... adobe ... hummm i don't remember... wahtever adobe have a tool that is good for editing maps... or other things (but is not good for drawing)

What happened to all the pictures?:(
Also how did you have all your sliders in position by the early 1500's? I've played and it takes me nearly till 1560's before I manage it. Also my game is strange in that Hainat and Munster are colonizing, also funny is that Castilla (as Portugal owns provinces needed to form spain) has colonized the 13 colony region.

It's the monthly download limit again at Photobucket - reset in about 10 days.

As for the sliders, I changed them on the first possible day every time and did nothing but those changes. I don't recall if I got any help from events.

No matter what I do, I get nowhere near anything but 1580's before I have the sliders in place, why the big difference? Also how did you have the sliders suddenly positive for government change? thats on the exact opposite of westernization is it not?

This was played in 3.1, there's something in the slider requirements for the early 3.2 betas that makes the westernisation and government reforms less compatible. However, I don't know what that is - you should probably ask in the main forum - I know it's been discussed and various solutions proposed.

And 2nd complete (from first post to "completion) PrawnstAAR in as many days. I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey. I especially enjoy reading the many many "why do you revoke cores?" posts. Your patience is legendary (many many many duplicate posts).

Also, I am about 90% sure that alliance leaders are determined entirely by prestige. Since you wreck the major's prestige through multiple wars, the innocent little OPMs end up leader.
