The Bismarck strategy a tactical and a strategically overview of a German AAR.

This is going to be my first AAR.
I wanted the start a AAR once and now i am going for it.
The setup of this AAR is to analyse and explain what, how and most important why i do some things the way i do it.
Also this AAR is for me a little test and experience in AAR writing.
Hope you enjoy it or else my apology for stealing your time and wasting it.
My English grammar might show some mistakes.
So if i do and i don’t notice it please let me know.
Btw i don’t no how fast i will keep it up but plan to finish it.
But the speed depend how much free time i have to spare and what i already have discovered that it takes some time to putt something down.

Heart of Iron 2.
Version: 1,2.
Difficulty: Normal
A.I. Agressiveness: Normal
Extra's: No-time-limit mod (although i don’t think i am going past 1948 unless it benefits the story).

Good luck with it my friend!

I'll be reading. Also, I offer my skills as a grammar Nazi! :p
Thanks!
As long as i am not going be deported to summer camp (were they rape, torture and the most worst of all show you educational television until you spell correct blindfolded!) for making one mistake i will like it.
The fist instalment is going to be posted in the next hour :).

Doubts and rethinking

It was 1936 and just before the end the of year in 1935 Hitler had opened a museum dedicated solely to Otto von Bismarck.
Germany unified and achieved greatness under Bismarck.
But there were many things Bismarck stood for that went against Hitler’s believes.
Hitler was for colonisation and Bismarck against.
He was also against war and wanted balance in Europe with Germany slightly more powerful then the rest of course and Htiler did not.
If it had come from somebody else then Bismarck Hitler would have labelled him a weakling and a coward.
But not this time.
He thought by him self if he was not going to far and if it was wise to do the things he had planned (war and highly possible a second world war, lebensraum etc....................).
The policy of Bismarck had always benefited Germany and well the more power hunger and warmongering approach of Wilhelm II led to a World War and ruined Germany.
When the war ended he was mad because of it and on the shameful defeat that followed.
But would he risk another defeat?
Germany could this time rule Europe.
But how long would it last?
And was a war and the deads and destruction worth it?
He knew that every Empire made by the sword collapsed by the sword.
Hitler laughed a bit because of the taught if once a Empire would be formed by bickering politicians if it also collapsed by bickering politicians.
But the Germans were a strong race.
So they could do it.
But why did they not win the war then?
Shortage on resources? Wrong propaganda? No clear idea why they fought?
He loved the German people but were others less?
Hitler agreed to himself that he would take a long thought about it.
Maybe he should change his goals.
Hitler thought long and hard.
He even suspended the new years minister meeting to 10 january 1936.
After days (around 5) days of thinking he went public again.

Hitlerrelaxing.png

Hilter retreated to Berchtesgaden to rethink the next steps he is going to take.

And made a impressive speech on 3 january the new course Germany would take.
This speech would then be seen and heard in all of Germany in the coming days.
And made the minsters even more curious what would come on the next minster meeting.
Althrough Hitler did not isolate himself from them entirely as he had given some parts of his new plans to the ministers.
And there were also other ideas and objections from the ministers and party members about the parts of the plans they heard.
It was clear not all of the cabinet was going to agree with those plans.
And for alot there would come a shock that they would be replaced!
It can’t be said that Hitler replaced people solely for there disagreement towards the new plans (because the biggest opponent against the plans Ludwig Beck was not replaced).
But they were replaced because in Hitler's eyes there were more capable man those who could also better fit in the new situation the plans were going to create.

The old political situation.

Politicsafterchange1936.png

And the new one.

Not only that, Hitler began a more democratic policy.
It was alittle step but it was noticibel.
And considering the extreme authoritarianism of Germany it was by far not a democracy.

It was mostly likly not the Fuhrer's intensions to become democratic but who knows.
Only the Fuhrer knows.......
He knows he is going to use...................

I don’t know if someone have noticed it but i accidentally switched the picture of the old political situation with the new one.
Now its ok again!
And the next update will come to day!

On track to a new destiny

Hitler looked out of the window.
Everything went so fast past him.
It was indeed one of the fasted trains of Germany.
Trees, houses, roads, people and such were more a blur then a clear picture.
He wanted to take out his memo and look through his plan one more time.
But his hand felt nothing but an empty pocket.
Not on the right or the left.
He was getting nervous
He did not forget it? Right?
Then maybe on in the inside pocked.
No not also there.
He watched a second time through the window and sighed.
Hopefully he could remember his plan that he wanted to present to his minister cabinet.
It was funny that the plan involved giving the cabinet more power.
And then they had more to say about things like the course Germany is going to take ride in the next few years.
So if he did not know his plan fully his position would be a lot weaker during the debate or debates that would follow for surety over the plans he had for Germany.
As they would also have some plans for sure.
With out the memo’s he would not remember all of his plans and the arguments for those plans.
And this would be for sure with the sleepy state he was in.
The best thing he could remember was the more democratic course that Germany is going to sail in.
And he could not suspend the Minster meeting another time.
He leant to the right on his right hand.
Then he felt.
It were the memos!
They were just lying next to him and right of the table.
He sighed again and picked them up and looked them through.
That was strange three were missing.
He looked beneath his feet. There was one under the table in front of him.
Hitler lowered himself to look under the bench in front of him and the one he sat on.
Yes they were under the bench he was sitting on.
He picked them up and got up and sat down again.
He was very sleepy because of the fact he had not slept very much the last days. And the meeting would begin shortly after his arrival.
So there was no change for him to get some sleep before that.
He picked a drove from the bow in the centre of the table. Hmmmmmmmm it was delicious and with no pit.
Maybe he should use the medicine his personal doctor had advised him to use.
But he did not thrust it enough to do it.
Well thinking about it he picked another drove.
A very big and juicy one he had picked.
It looked very fruity but it slipped out of his hand and fell on the floor.
Dammit he was too tired.
Hitler crouched and bowed to look around on the floor were the drove could be.
There was a knock on the door.
He quickly got up and sat again and said come in.
It was a SS officer that opened the door.
Mein Fuhrer the train is arriving at his destination shortly.
Thank you Hitler said and the SS officer gave the ave salute and left not turning his back to Hitler but looking not to him either but rather towards the floor a few steps away from him and closed the door.
Almost there he thought by himself.
It was not for nothing he chose this location as he had a plan that would take place close to that place.
And he felt he could better over see and coordinate such operation if he was close to it.
Then he realized that he had not asked who it was at the door,
Fool! He taught to himself.
It could have been a person that would want to assassinate him.
But who would want to do that?
A communist? No the communist were defeated in Germany.
That was reason he was given all out power to defeat a possible red revolution.
Now that there was no more red threat in Germany it self (as outside of Germany there was still a very large red threat).
That was also one of the main reasons to give up some power as it was not more necessity.
It could also have been a French assassin or other Allied agent.
Because of the thing he had planned.
No that could not be possible has it was still very much a big secret and only a handful and hopefully loyal people knew about it.
Anyway it was just a SS officer that was one his guards on the trip.
He wondered were that drove go to before that SS officer came in to the room.
Then he saw the remains of the drove on the floor next to the door.
The officer had stepped on it oh well there was other things to think about now because the train seemed to lower speed.
He had arrived.

A new ideal blown away

When he stepped out of the train there were a few SS guards and a Reichswehr officer to welcome him.
And he knew there were some Gestapo agents around but they had civilian clothing and kept there distance.
He had come out at the end part of the train.
Well all the other passengers came out of the first three and four wagons.
Perfect no one knew he was here.
He had come all the way from Berlin to Hamburg and then to Essen.
So if someone saw him leave Berlin they would taught he was in Hamburg.
As it was still dark he and the guards and the officer could easily slip unnoticed in to a garage close to the train station.
There he saw some mechanics and again some SS guards.
But there were also two cars.
The car he had planned to drive in and one from an important person, his best bet was a general.
Why are there two cars here?
Well mein Fuhrer as the Reichswehr officer began to speak.
The original planned car broke down and we called in an other car but that one will arrive at best only in a half a hour and at worst two hours.
So the Chief of Staff Ludwig Beck offered his car but that one also went broke.
But we just managed to fix it a few minutes ago.
He could wait because the meeting was only at 10:00 but all the ministers would already be there so they could start early.
And he would collapse of his lack of sleep in three hours.
At least so that’s how he felt it.
What does it matter?
I will take the car from the Chief of Staff.
Ludwig wanted a more aggressive policy for Germany and a more offensive policy for the Reichswehr and the disbanding of the SA.
Both that went against the new plans of Germany at least if it were the more aggressive policy and the disbanding of the SA that were concerned.
He wanted a more peaceful policy and a larger SA maybe even replacing the Reichswehr.
This is going to be a rough debate and Ludwig is probably ready for it.
Other then that why would he send his car to pick him up?
He was probably anxious for the debate and to state his opinion.
In the old cabinet he would probably have more support.
But still he could win this if he played it smart and i would doze in or something or let my guard down.
No that was not going to be, i would stay sharp.
The army might have a lot of power but i am still the Fuhrer.
I could do this!
He stepped in to the car and the SS guards and mechanics saluted with the ave salute.
The Reichswehr officer went outside to open the main garage door.
And one of the SS guards would be his driver.
There would be also some Gestapo agents keeping close to him and in case of a attack or something else call in for help and give there assistance and/or defend him against the attackers.
Hitler leant back and watched with dreamy eyes to the front window.
The main garage door was open.
And the SS guard behind the steer started the engine.
He heard the normal starting sound of an engine and a click.
Click?
