As I have been away, I am also still working through the last few chapters.

However, my posting is more about the Crown. Is this the first crown to be bestowed? When you post your thread, I hope you will include a history of the crown and a list of any winAARs. Thanks.
This was actually the second crown. The first winner was @Nikolai. He’s such a prolific authAAR, I don’t even remember which of his many AARs he had completed when I gave it to him. :)

I’m definitely keeping track and will share it all when I make the thread.

Finally at the end of this opus. Quite the experiment. I think anyone who has been following the entire universe for a variety of years would be satisfied with all these happy endings. I was invested to see what happened to Trig and Tenna, so thanks for the answers there. Also, glad to see an end to the Irish CK3 timeline or at least a stopping point for that.

Plus for me, I loved the fact that Ponnico returned. Yes, some of us noticed and remembered him.

The new Stellaris story looks interesting, but it may be quite some time before I return to the Stellaris subforum. I am woefully behind in my reading. Thanks for this bit of meta-fiction.

And what are those new Paradox rules regarding meta-fiction, by the way?

Thank you so much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed and found satisfaction in the ending. This story was an incredible experiment and I enjoyed every moment.

No worries! There are a lot of good stories out there, as the Q3 2024 ACAs are reminding us all. (Hint, hint, everyone! ;) )

And you'll have plenty of opportunity to revisit my other Stellaris stories without fear of falling behind, should you ever chose to check out my offerings on the Stellaris AAR forums. Due to a recent major development IRL, Unsung Paragons is going to be my final Stellaris story for the next year-and-a-half at least. So you've got an opportunity to catch up.

I wrote the mention of new rules as a direct reference to a post by the now-moderator Lord Durham over in the bAAR, which implied that we will need to ask permission before dragging the bAAR into any future metafiction AARs. (which makes quite a lot of sense, if you ask me.)

Thanks for these answers, but now I have more questions!

Oh, yes. I was aware of this. As the bAAR is already a bit of a funhouse that blends in-character writing with authorial philosophy and other commentaries, complicating it with including it in a storyline causes issues. What is the "canon" of the bAAR? As the original design of the bAAR was to include writAARs in character it gets complex if the bAAR's canon gets borrowed.

Perhaps you have provided answers in your new story, but what is this IRL development? Are congratulations in order? (Does it have anything to do with chosenpai?) (I ask that only half-way in jest.)

Glad you are promoting the ACAs. This has been on my ballot before and no doubt it will likely make it again. However, I find the CK3 and CK2 subforums to have so many good AARs these days. Some good ones will no doubt be left off my ballot and I feel badly about that.

Good luck to you with your new developments and new story.

What is the "canon" of the bAAR?
Murky, nebulous, and subject to change is the best way I can describe the bAAR's Canon. I know the bAAR is currently on its second thread, as the concept is a very old idea that's been on these forums for a very long time.

The current version of the bAAR was set up by a now-retired mod, and I joined in roughly a year and half before the events of The Broken Gates. I hang out there mostly to talk about virtual hangouts and the ACA's, so the deeper lore is somewhat lost on me.

what is this IRL development?
Unfortunately, the US National Guard has called me up for a deployment to the Middle East. I am racing the clock to finish writing Unsung Paragons before I have to start the long trip to Iraq, where I'll be doing full-time military work for about 10 months.

Obviously, this will preclude me from posting on the forums frequently enough to sustain an AAR, so the deployment will mark an extended hiatus for me.

Yes, the bAAR can be deep, but also shallow at times too. I'm not sure exactly if there is lore there, but the long-time writAARs may correct me on that point. However, I do think there is an attempt at a linear plot in a group writing project that sometimes is just a discussion like here, sometimes is performative, and sometimes is like an interactive story.

Thank you for your service. Good luck to you and may you stay safe in a very difficult part of the world. Hoping you stay as safe as possible.

Good luck to you and yes, that will allow some of us to catch up on your universe. Hoping you have many correspondents to keep you connected to the world beyond Iraq. And I hope one of those folks is like chosenpai so you can share writing ideas. Good luck as you write on deadline. I'll be reading your good work again when I can catch up.
