For the 2000, 2004, and 2008 US Election Events, I had to do a "reboot" in 2000 because things where spiraling out of control (a complex chain for 2000 could take upwards of 60 events to do it "right"). So the 2000 US Election will be between McCain and George W. Bush for the Republican nomination (generally historical), and Al Gore will be the Democratic nominee in all cases (depending on the choices in the 1992+1996 events, he could be anything from a failed former candidate, to President running for reelection in 2000)
In any case, in the 2004 election, if the Republican wins in 2000(either Bush or McCain), they get an easy win in the primary (Historical for Bush). The Democrats can go with John Kerry (historical), Howard Dean, or Fr. Gen. Wesley Clark. The reason for no Al Gore is because, since if he had won in 1996, he would be ineligible to run again in 2004. This makes things easier for me to program.
In 2008, we have a similar but more serious problem, with McCain being possible to win in 2000+2004, he also could not run in 2008. Historically, however, he wasn't elected and did run in 2008. However I also figure if he won in 2000, lost re-election in 2004, he wouldn't run in 2008. So if McCain wins in 2000 a Republican Primary will happen Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, and Ron Paul. If McCain won in 2004 only (and is running for re-election), he will face token opposition only from from Ron Paul. If things go historical the Republican nominees will be John McCain, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, and Ron Paul. The Democratic Nominees will be Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.
This means the total US Election event series from 1992-2008 will be 71 events long. That epic enough for ya'll?
