This is a chronicle written by the influential house of Trajanus.
It all started on a ball in the year 1444, Constantinople. A magical day if you ask me.
A large number of royals were present that day, along with the most venerable and powerful houses in all of Europe.
I will present them one by one. As first the host of this ambitious ball
Emperor Ioannes VIII Palaiologos with the house Trajanus at his side, ruler of the small byzantine empire. You can immediately notice the real reason for the hosting of this ball.
That is the salvation of the once mighty and hopefully once more byzantine empire.
I can tell you this already, the empire is rising like a phoenix from its ashes but more on that later.
As second guest on this ball. The doge of Venice, and more importantly the house Malaras, who have lead the dodges of Venice to its glory it has this day.
The house Malaras will prove itself an worthy and strong ally of the house Trajanus. But again, more on that later.
A bit further from home but of equal importance to my house, King Alfons V of Trastamara, with the house Poppacrub at his side.
The kings of Trastamara are very powerful but the houses at their side have even more power.
This house even has the advantage of influencing the king of naples since King Alfons also rules over this realm
The kings of Castile and Portugal with the respective houses of deltasquid and Rasputin.
Those houses seem to be focusing on western things, those houses believe that the world is not flat.
I honestly don’t know what to think of that. I have dug in the great libraries of this magnificent city and it indeed does say that great philosophers in the past have believed this too.
I guess time shall tell if those houses are right. But for now they are probably seen as naïve morons for believing in such nonsense, the power of the church is strong in the west .
Next to present is the house Archim-detjen, they influence one of the strongest archdukes in the world, a duke that can be considered emperor.
The archduke of the Habsburg dynasty. These dukes have a terrible burden to carry but also an incredible power.
They control the holy roman empire, but as it always is with such pretender states , they are divided themselves.
The dukes have the burden to keep all those little dukes and kings in the empire in check
The house of Trajanus has no intention of dethroning this unrightfully crowned emperor but I should mention here that the Palaiologos dynasty is the only real and honorable descendent from the roman empire. And the house of Trajanus is there to guide this dynasty through the ages and up to glory.
The next guests are very close to home and these are the grandmasters of the knights.
These have a bad reputation in Constantinople because they are one of the states created by the 4th crusade, and these are destined to be destroyed by the byzantine revival.
Unless if the house of dragonbreath manages to form this tiny crusader state into an Greek ruled, orthodox state that has no interest in conquering the mainland.
My house will help with this , and if the house of dragonbreath refuses the help of my house then there is nothing that will stop the Palaiologos dynasty from conquering this heathen state.
But further to the guest list, the next guests are the house of Malcolm and their king, … of Poland and Lithouania
This house is very fortunate since it has the opportunity to influence a king who has the power over 2 states.
The main seat of their house is in Poland but Lithuania is in their grasp now to. I feel that this will be a house to watch closely since their interests might collide with ours.
Next on the line are the house of Rogers and the Muskovian king …, these lords come from far in the north but I feel that these lords might one day be of interests to the emperors of Constantinople. These lords share our faith and we may one day share our borders. But from where I write these memories down, this day has not come yet. Who knows one day. And then the emperors will look north.
And at last, the two remaining lords and houses. A nitwit and a genius if you ask me. That can’t be said about their houses however. The house of Xerxes seems to be well capable of influencing the Lancaster kings. Especially the moron henry that is. The French house of Cairon has a king that is more capable of ruling his realm, but still the Cairons have a lot of influence in that realm.
Those two western houses seem to not pay much interest in the purpose of this ball. Those houses seem to be involved in what may well be the biggest negotiation of a peace treaty ever. I can tell you now, they ended that great war between them on that day, in this magnificent city. It seems to be that this city is once more the center of the world. And me and my house will strive to make it even more so.
