New York City

The day the Red Army crossed into West Germany was unexpected, the reason for Stalin's invasion is still unclear.
People were frightened, they expected Nuclear War.
"The commies are crazy!" One woman said.
"Stalin's worse than Hitler!" a man shouted.
"Our boys are already in Korea, now we have to fight two wars at once!"

Soon after, the shouts couldn't be heard over the sounds of the air raid sirens.
The events that followed in the United States, changed America forever.
People looked up expecting to see bombs falling, but it wasn't bombs, it was people.
These people were parachuting to the ground.
Operation: Fallen Eagle, commonly referred to as: The Invasion of The United States had just been launched.

The Soviet 8th Airborne Division was the first to reach their target.
"Many of you will die here today." One commander said.
"But today, we'll show them that the might of Red Army!"
"Today comrades, we liberate the American's from their capitalist government." Another said
"Today, the red banner will fly above New York!"
The light in the plane turned green, every man knew what that meant: it's time.
One by one, they began jumping out of the plane and towards the city below.
And with that, the first Communist paratroopers began seizing the city.

Washington D.C.
Two Hours Later

Washington.jpg

Eisenhower: "Mr. President, there's a crisis right now in West Germany."
Truman: "What the hell is going on General?"
Eisenhower: "Roughly three hours ago, approximately 200 divisions of Soviet Forces launched an invasion of West Germany, they quickly seized West Berlin and are now pushing through the Fulda Gap."
Truman: "My god, how many divisions do we have in the area?"
Eisenhower: "Mr. President, I'm afraid that there is worse news."
Truman: "How much worse could it be?"
Eisenhower stops and takes a big breath. "Paratroopers from the Soviet Union have landed in the states of New York, Virginia, and New Jersey."
Truman: "Are you saying...we're under attack?"
Seconds later secret service burst into the room.
Agent: "Mr. President we have reports that Soviet planes are nearing the city, we're evacuating you to Denver."
As Truman was being rushed out he yelled back to Eisenhower
Truman: "And General, as Supreme Allied Commander of Europe I want you to go to London, I'll set up a meeting with other NATO leaders!"

Welcome to my second AAR!
This will be primarily narrative AAR that will focus on the Soviet 8th Airborne.
It's on Normal/Aggressive
I will be playing as the Soviet Union, and later the United States.
I've only changed 2 things: the range of air transports so that they can reach the USA and I've made airborne divisions a little bit faster.

and most importantly: WOLVERINES!

I definetly like! Although it has that World Of Conflict vibe of completely ignoring geography and logistics. :p

Glad you like it, and World in Conflict is actually were I got the idea for this AAR. Logistical errors ftw!

This sounds fun. Though I would have maybe hit Hawaii and the west coast/Alaska then headed east. Going to be watching this one.

West Coast is the focus of next update, some serious stuff going down in Alaska too. Basically the USA isn't in good shape.

if it is going to be like the movei i guess you got inspired by, then i might pass...
1 soviets wouldn't kill civilians
2 children who would grab guns would die instantly
3 spetznaz is made to descimate other elite units, children would just seize to exist in its vicinity .
4 if soviets where able to grab "new england" in the east or take all up to the rocky mountains in the west, i dont think americans would be ever able to push soviets back as the grabbed terrain would be enough for defence in depth and send additional troops before being pushed back.
besides every grabbed city is a great blow to usa, because without them its pretty much only redneck millitias

and usage of insignificant force by Red Army(that would be easily defeated) would be impractical, as americans then would know what, where and how to defend.
I believe, Soviets would make 4 moves, 1 to secure port cities, 2 then go fordefencable areas, 3 move would be to take seaboard to cut off navy, 4 then go for larger areas, like moving the front to appalaches or rocky mountains.
If americans would allow for the 3 move to happen, means they can do nothing (mobilised to late), and soviets would make it up to the 4 move, well then usa is screwed.

I have to disagree with you there. Conquering isnt the same as holding. The soviets could barely hold Afghanistan and that was on their border practically. The kind of guerilla war those "redneck militias" as you call them could offer would have slowly but surely worn the soviet army out and defence in depth in a foreign country without any public support is a sheer impossibility because you simply wont have the mobility there. Conquering a country of 200 million people that basically despise you is in general impossible (the same goes the other way round, the US fighting in the SU would have been a disaster equally)

"This is American Civil Defense Radio.
A Foreign invasion of this country has been launched by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Evacuation from several major cities is underway. This is not a drill.
I repeat. A foreign invasion of this country has been launched by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics."

Seattle, Washington
Two Days Later

In Seattle people were shocked to hear of the invasion.
No one knew what was going to happen next.
But than at 4:00 am, a blinding light could be seen for miles.
Seconds later a cloud shaped like a mushroom covered the city.

The Atomic Bombing of Seattle

The nuclear device detonated on Seattle was primarily meant to destroy the three docked Midway-Class Carriers in Puget Sound.
Several days after the nuclear attack on the city, Soviet transports began unloading divisions in the area north of Seattle.

Concurrently with the atomic bombing of Seattle, the Soviet Carrier: Moskva launched a bombing raid to clear the shores of Los Angeles, in the shore bombardment, a little-known actor named Ronald Reagan was struck by falling debris and died soon after.
At 6:00am landings began in and around the city of Los Angeles. The battle for Los Angeles lasted roughly five hours. After those five hours the garrison defending the city surrendered.

An L.A. street following the battle.

As Soviet Soldiers began pushing inland the American forces found themselves totally outnumbered and outgunned.
The reason for being outgunned is attributed to one key factor: the Automatic Kalashnikov Rifle, 1947 Model.
More commonly referred to as: the AK-47.
The AK-47 had became the official service rifle of the Soviet Armed Forces in 1949.
It's been said that you could bury the AK-47 in the ground for a year, and once you dig it up it'll still fire like the day it was made.
The American M1 Garands and M1 Carbines were totally outclassed.

The Rifle that was commonly blamed for early Communist victory.

As the United States was invaded on both coasts, Soviet Airplanes stationed in the Kamchatka Peninsula begin to cross the Bering Strait for Plan: Fuchsia, the invasion of the Territory of Alaska.

How is your war in Europe going? Also can I ask about the leadup to 1951... I seem to remember the USA nuking Moscow at the beginning of the Doomsday Scenario.
it's not the doomsday scenario actually, it's the New World Order mod's scenario which has a scenario that starts off in 1945 and has a buildup to world war 3.
Wolveriiiines!
Avenge me!!!

yes but Afghans were supplied by americans with modern equipment and were charging to the death. But if America was invaded, factories would be out of the question and supplying over such vast territory would be done by air. Americans would resist like typical European country, maybe one big uprising at some point.
Besides, Soviets are known for having a second army behind the Red Army, the NKVD, which would scan for possible resistance.

Why not? Actually, units staying behind the lines makes it better for supply lines. American infra would be its undoing.

I have to say this is a really cool AAR. Even if it's implausible.

Zhukov's Great Failure

Does anyone know a good no time-limit patch?
-------------------------------------------------------

Zhuk.jpg
Zhukov was given priority for Plan: Fuchsia

It was decided that none other than Field Marshal Zhukov would lead the assault on Alaska, he would than push Army Group Z down through British Columbia to link up with the forces in Washington State.

Once they reached Anchorage, a force of 8 American divisions were defending, initially it seemed as though the 10 Soviet divisions would be successful. But two days after the attack began, the American's were reinforced by 4 Canadian divisions. The Soviet's were forced to abandon the amphibious landings; the airborne forces that landed in Anchorage were totally annihilated.

Stalin was furious. He ordered Zhukov to immediately report to Moscow. Upon his arrival there was a mock trial, stating Zhukov had purposely caused the failure of Plan Fuchsia. At the end of his trial, Zhukov considered himself as good as dead. Stalin himself decided on Zhukov's fate, which was kept secret for nearly 50 years until the NKVD report was declassified in 1996.

Meanwhile, the DPRK took an opportunity with American forces forces leaving Korea, they quickly launched a large offensive and pushed the South Koreans out of Seoul.
The People's Republic of China made landings on Taiwan and Mao Zedong was determined to finish the Chinese Civil War.

Damaged T-55 in Germany

In Europe, the Red Army began a push into southern Denmark. They also continued a push West, but for the most part Germany had just become a stalemate. American presence in Germany seemed to remain strong despite the war on their own soil.

Meanwhile in London, the meeting between Eisenhower and several NATO leaders was underway.
Eisenhower: Our intelligence network in the Soviet Union has confirmed that Field Marshal Zhukov.....

There's an old joke about Brezhnev here:

"What does a wolf do after he's eaten Brezhnev?

It pisses medals."

And it can be extended to Zhukov too, it seems. :D
That would defiantly be true for both of them.

For the next update I'm considering 3 things, but I'll let you all decide for me:
A: Lengthy narrative update (much longer than before)
B: Standard update (similar to the last ones)
C: Gameplay update (self explanatory)

Whatever gets the most votes will be the one I do.

I declare this a Zhukov-joke day.

- My god, that man has more metal on his chest than Mr. T.
- The Cylons must have called Zhukov when they were running low on clankers.
- Zhukov's medals gather more moons than Jupiter.
- When you dont have a medal detector, call Zhukov. His chest will find all the medal you will ever need.
