Hello everybody!

First, I would like to apologize for my English. It's not my first language and to write this story I'll use Google Translate. This is my first CK2 AAR and first on this forum, although I have already written some Football Manager AARs.

I've been playing CK2 since launch, and the AGOT mod for about 7 years. Although I haven't played the game for a while, I'm a fan of GRRM's work and I read his books from time to time. With the release of House of the Dragon, I was excited to play it again and shape my own Westeros. My last save unfolded in a story that I think deserves to be told, so I decided to take a chance and translate it into an AAR. I intend to write it like Fire & Blood, a history book, but with chapters from the characters' point of view.

Hope you like it!

PROLOGUE
Accounts of Great Maester Marwyn about Robert's Rebellion

At the beginning of 284 a.C, the rebels seemed unstoppable. King Aerys finally realized that Robert Baratheon was a threat to be taken seriously. The Tyrells suffered heavy casualties in the Stormlands in late 283 a.C. At Maidenpool, Hoster Tully, Eddard Stark, and Robert Baratheon himself crushed an army of 8000 men, clearing the way for King's Landing.

My predecessor, Pycelle, recorded that Aerys sent two ravens earlier that year. The first for his old hand, Tywin Lannister, begging for help. The second went to Dragonstone. Rhaegar started this rebellion, said the mad king, so Rhaegar should crush it.

It is unknown if Rhaegar Targaryen read that message. Almost immediately, the prince was in King's Landing, ready to lead the crown's armies. He decided that the Tyrells, Martells, and other loyalists near King's Landing should gather forces at Duskendale, to stop the rebels' march.

Perhaps the Mad King was now confident of victory, but he could never celebrate it. On the fourth moon of 284, Aerys II Targaryen fell down the stairs (those who dared to suggest that Rhaegar had anything to do with it lost their tongues) and died instantly. He never met his third daughter who would be born shortly thereafter, Daenerys.

Aerys.png

The two armies met at Duskendale. The rebels had a 3-to-1 advantage on that fateful day. The Baratheons attacked the Targaryens' right flank, with Robert killing Kingsguard Lewyn Martell. The Battle of Duskendale seemed lost to Rhaegar... until the golden lion banner appeared. In a grandiose twist, The Lannisters entered the battle to save the Targaryen kingdom. Gregor Clegane, The Mountain, pierced Hoster Tully's skull with his sword. Rhaegar had no idea that Tywin Lannister was on his side, but his entry into the battle surrounded Robert Baratheon, who surrendered along with Jon Arryn. At that moment, the rebel forces lost hope and began to flee. The rebellion was over.

Robert'sRebellion.png

If Aerys were still king, maybe Eddard Stark would have kept fighting. But with Robert and Jon captured, and Hoster Tully dead, he knew his cause was lost and under a white flag he marched to King's Landing. He just didn't know who he would find there...

With the war over, Rhaegar Targaryen's first decision was perhaps the most sensible: He appointed Lord Tywin as his hand. The man, hated by his father, had saved his skin and proved loyal. Though Lord Varys once confided in me whether he would also be loyal to Aerys.

Tywin.png

King Rhaegar left for Dorne and in a moon he returned. But not alone. With him were Lyanna Stark... and a child, named Aemon.

TorredaAlegria.png

When Eddard Stark arrived in King's Landing, he found Lyanna and her new son. The young girl just told her brother, "I will be queen, and the king has promised me that you will be forgiven".

TOJ.png

His subsequent decisions were perhaps less sensible than the appointment of Lord Tywin. He sought out the High Septon, asking for the annulment of his marriage to Elia Martell, using the argument that she could have no more children. The old septon was a sickly man and did not like to get into disputes, especially with the king, and he accepted. Pycelle said that Rhaegar called Elia into the throne room to communicate his decision. According to Pycelle, the only thing Elia said was "Right, Your Majesty." That was the last time the king spoke to the mother of two of his children.

Others did not take it so well. Elia had gone to Sunspear, but Prince Oberyn was at the Battle of Duskendale, and attended the wedding and coronation of the new king and queen. Pycelle says the Red Viper was drunk, other witnesses say the man was perfectly sober. What no one disagrees is that the Prince challenged the King to a duel for his sister's honor. The man could only be deterred by his wife, Ellaria Sand. He left the feast immediately, but challenged the king to meet him in Dorne someday.*

TOJ2.png

In his coronation speech, Rhaegar promised a thousand years of peace for Westeros.
Rhaenys, Aegon and Aemon - Said the King - Are the future of the kingdom. And they will be known for great deeds.
Perhaps the King genuinely wanted to plant the seeds of peace, and he really did plant seeds... But seeds of war.

* Whether it was because of the challenge or not, nobody knows. But it is common knowledge that Rhaegar Targaryen never set foot in Dorne again after his divorce from Elia Martell.

Thanks. Yes, Google translate is not the best tool, but I hope you correct me if there are any blunders!

Very interesting canon divergence, I forsee some trouble between the 2 children of Elia and Lyannas children, especially between Aegon and Aemon, what is the new Kings plan for Robert and Jon?

Oh, this is good.

Rhaegar wins? I wonder what will happen now? Succession crisis?

Aemon is Jon Snow, right?

Thanks! These points will be addressed in the following chapters.

Yes! Aemon is Jon Snow. I think it's his default name if Rhaegar wins the rebellion, but I'm not sure.

CHAPTER I
Rhaegar and Lyanna - The Dragon King and the Wolf Queen

When Rhaegar sat on the Iron Throne, the realm was dealing with open wounds. Lords of the North, Vale, Riverlands and Stormlands crowded into the throne room to swear their allegiance to the new king... and seek his forgiveness.

Rhaegar planned to punish the architects of the rebellion - Eddard Stark, Robert Baratheon and Jon Arryn - severely.
- Rickard and Brandon Stark arrogantly challenged the King - said the King to his loyalists - My father should have given them a fair trial, but without a doubt they deserved to be punished!
Rhaegar was reluctant to kill Eddard Stark. Pycelle tells us that he was in love with his wife, and promised her that his brother would be spared and didn't want to go back on her word.
But Lord Mace Tyrell suggested impaling the heads of the three of them in the Red Keep, as a warning to anyone who would dare defy House Targaryen.
The Hand of the King, Lord Tywin, thought otherwise.
- Majesty - he said - when your enemies defy you, you must serve them steel and fire. When they go to their knees, however, you must help them back to their feet. Elsewise no man will ever bend the knee to you.
That was enough to convince Rhaegar that Tywin's solution was the wisest thing to do.

Jon Arryn was the first to be forgiven. With no heirs, he was appointed Master of the Laws immediately, and as soon as he had children they would be educated in King's Landing.
Eddard Stark was also pardoned. The man was allowed to return to the North, but his newborn son Robb Stark would go to King's Landing on his fourth birthday as a guest (or hostage).
Edmure Tully was only a child, and custody of him was entrusted to Lord Mooton, a Targaryen loyalist. Additionally, Tywin Lannister agreed to bestow his daughter Cersei's hand on young Tully when he reached the proper age.

Robert Baratheon, however, was a different matter. The leader of the rebellion could not return to his lands with only the promise of hostages, to which Rhaegar, Tywin, and Mace agreed. To avoid a trial, the king allowed Robert to take the black and summoned his brother Stannis to swear allegiance. Now, the rebellion had truly come to an end.

RobertB.png

Rhaegar's reign began as well as his marriage to the new queen. A new loan from the Iron Bank of Braavos was made to rebuild the kingdom. In addition, their first board was selected, as recorded:

Tywin Lannister as Hand of the King
Jon Arryn as Master of Laws
Myles Mooton - one of Rhaegar's favorites - as Master of Arms
Mace Tyrell as Master of Coin
Lord Varys as Master of Whispers
Monford Velaryon as Master of Ships
Gerold Hightower as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard
Pycelle as Grand Maester

* The position of master of ships was even offered to Quellon Greyjoy "The Magnificent", but he kindly declined. Rhaegar also summoned Doran Martell to be Master of Coins, but the Prince of Dorne said he could not take his place on the council, although he offered his brother Oberyn the position, something the King promptly refused.

Lyanna also proved to be a fertile queen. Less than a year after giving birth to Prince Aemon, the king happily announced that his wife was pregnant again. In 285 a little girl named Visenya was born. The entire realm rejoiced...all except Princess Rhaenys.

"My father brought his mistress to court and now he wants us to accept his bastards as equals," the princess once said to her Septa.

The Princess' behavior certainly worried her, but the years that followed were one of joy for Rhaegar and Lyanna. In 289 she gave birth to a boy, Baeryn, and in 296 she conceived a girl named Gael. But the story about these princes will be told later.

The fact is that at the beginning of the new decade, the kingdom was prospering as never before. The kingdom's credibility had been restored, pirates had not threatened the shores of Westeros for some time, and the king could afford to send able men to the Wall.

The Queen's Engagements

Queen Lyanna decided she wouldn't just be a consort buying expensive Lysene gowns. After Baeryn's birth, the queen discovered that her favorite pastime would be arranging marriages. And she proved skilled at it. She arranged for her nephew Robb Stark to marry Lord Hightower's daughter, promised Myles Mooton's son to Jon Arryn's newborn daughter, and arranged for Lord Bracken and Lord Blackwood to settle their disputes (at that time.. na) with an engagement.

But her great "works" were the betrothals of the king's brothers. And here it is worth talking about them.
Viserys Targaryen was an unstable boy, much younger than Rhaegar and who always lived in his brother's shadow. After the death of Aerys, his mother, Rhaella fell into a deep depression and isolated herself from the world. Strangely, he found a mother figure in Lyanna and became one of the queen's staunchest allies at court in subsequent years. Therefore, he did not object to his betrothal to Alysandra Lannister, the daughter of Tywin Lannister's second marriage.

Viserys.png

Daenerys Targaryen was born after the rebellion ended. A quiet child, the teachers report that she was easy to learn, she liked the myrian tissue. As children, she and Princess Rhaenys were flesh and blood. And that friendship lasted. With a taste for parties, the two girls spent every feast and tournament evaluating and judging the handsome, well-born knights. The two, however, believed that naturally they were already engaged.

- You will marry Aegon and I will marry Viserys. I hope you will give me a good position at court when you are queen! - Said certain Daenerys jokingly.
- You will be the Lady of Pentos, dear! - Rhaenys replied.
- I don't think Viserys will conquer Pentos. - Daenerys said smiling.
- I'll make Aegon conquer it for you! And if I don't, he won't enter my chambers. - Rhaenys laughed.

So Daenerys was surprised when Viserys' engagement was announced. But the queen also had plans for her, as it was announced at a banquet on the anniversary of Rhaegar's reign.

- Gentlemen, ladies. I would like everyone's attention - Said the queen - I am delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Daenerys to the heir of the Reach, Willas Tyrell! - all those present applauded.

Daenerys.png

The next betrothals, however, would prove more difficult, and would change the kingdom forever.

"Rhaenys is getting close to his fifteenth name day," Lyanna said at a small council meeting. - It's time we got her a fiancé.
"Well, Princess Rhaenys is going to marry Prince Aegon, but he's not old enough yet..." Mace Tyrell said.
- No. - Said the queen - We must marry her to Aemon, so we can unite the two branches. And we can wed Aegon to Visenya.
- I agree with you, dear. - the king spoke - I'll call her to the throne room to communicate the decision.

Perhaps the king didn't know his daughter, but Rhaenys had a strong personality, and she wouldn't easily accept something forced.

- How it is?! - cried the princess when she was informed of the decision by the king and queen.
- We think it's the best decision, Rhaenys. - The queen tried to calm her down.
- Yes, you think it's the best decision, I have no doubts about that - Rhaenys started - And I also know that you may have convinced my father... But know that I'm not going to marry your bastard!
That infuriated Rhaegar and scared the queen.
- Enough! Aemon is your brother and you will marry him! - The king demanded
- How dare you call my son a bastard, insolent girl?! - shouted Lyanna - The king should cut his filthy tongue for that!
- It is what it is - replied the princess - Why can't I marry Aegon?! If you wish to punish me, marry me to my cousin Quentyn. I'm sure my uncle won't force me to lie with bastards!
- Right. I'll arrange another marriage for you. Right now I will offer your hand to Tyrion Lannister. - Challenged Rhaegar
- The Imp?! Do you want to punish me that much, father?
- Make your choice. Aemon or the Imp.
Rhaenys reluctantly accepted the betrothal. Rhaenys and Lyanna were never exactly friends, but after that day, their relationship fell apart forever. The queen began to not tolerate the presence of the princess, and the reverse was true.

Rhaegar also called Prince Aegon to communicate his betrothal to Visenya. There are no records of Aegon opposing it. And so, Aegon Targaryen was named Prince of Dragonstone on the fourteenth day of his name.

And it looked like the king and queen's plan had worked. The problems could have been resolved in time... If in 297 a.C one event hadn't ruined everything.

Lyanna reminds me a little of the original Rhaenys for her penchant for arranging marriages.

We must marry her to Aemon, so we can unite the two branches. And we can wed Aegon to Visenya.
Very solid idea, I tried something similar in my own AAR but things fell apart.

Lyanna clearly has a good deal of power and I cant see her being content with Aegon continuing as the heir, I expected Rhaegar to favor Aemon so t is surprising to see Aegon named the prince of Dragonstone.

Why do I feel like a civil war is about to occur?

I wonder who Dany and Viserys will side with?

CHAPTER II
The Rhaegar Period: 289 a.C - 299 a.C

In the year 289 a.C, Westeros was enjoying a long peace. It was a period of economic prosperity, one of the longest summers of the Targaryen reign, and a hopeful future. It was in this year that Prince Baeryn was born, and the rivalry between Queen Lyanna and Princess Rhaenys was still something distant. But why talk about facts? It's common sense, and none of it contributes to the learning of a Maester or a Historian. We will go back to that period, which covers 10 years, for other reasons.

The Iron Stag and The Queen That Once Was

The Iron Stag and The Queen That Once Was is a song composed by a bard named Perryn which became popular throughout the kingdom. Despite being a romanticized version, it records one of the most important events of the kingdom in 289 BC.

Stannis Baratheon led the resistance of Storm's End in the siege that struck the castle during his brother's rebellion. When Robert was sent to the wall, Stannis bent the knee and was named Lord of the Stormlands. Despite this, Targaryen-Baratheon relations never recovered. Storm's End was ostracized by the crown, subjected to heavy war reparations, and Renly Baratheon was sent to Grandview as a hostage.

This caused resentment from the vassals, but Stannis knew how to get around it. A tough but honorable man, he soon won the trust of the nobles. In 287, the Swann of Stonehelm rebelled. One of the most brilliant generals of his generation, the revolt was soon contained. Old Lord Swann joined Robert in the far north, and his children were forgiven. When he didn't ask for hostages, the new Lord of Stonehelm would have asked him

- I don't need hostages. If you and your siblings repeat your father's behavior, your line will come to an end. - Stannis would have said. - I will cut off your heads myself.

images

But his allies were worried about the succession. Renly was not a particularly exciting heir, and they were pressuring Lord Stannis to marry. At this point, he was about 24 years old, and surely every single lady in the kingdom would like to marry him.

- Renly will succeed me. -He always said-My duty is to the people for whom I must govern.
- Your duty is also to bear an heir, my lord. - His Master replied.

The bard Perryn sings that Stannis won a tournament at Sunspear and named a woman he fell in love with at first glance Queen of Love and Beauty: Princess Elia Martell.

This version is unlikely, as Lord Baratheon rarely participated in jousting. However, everyone who had been to Storm's End after the union said that Elia was the only person who made Stannis smile. Maester Cressen, who has served the Baratheon since he was a child, says the first time she saw Stannis smile was at her wedding. And Perryn ends his song by saying that The Queen That Once Was found happiness in his life.

Stannis.png

Whether they were lovers or not is of little importance to us. Maester Pycelle reports that Rhaegar was furious at his unauthorized marriage.

- How dare they?! - Rhaegar shouted - Listen to Prince Doran's petulance! "I announce the marriage of Elia" He informs the king?! Elia is the mother of my children and Dorne should ask my permission first!
"That you would refuse," Lord Tywin replied.
- And wouldn't you do the same, dear Hand? - Said Queen Lyanna ironically - Stannis and Doran have many reasons to hate the King. This marriage indicates that.
“You are the only one who cannot see, Lord Tywin. - Mace Tyrell said - If these two rebel against the king, my lands will be invaded.
Tywin glared at Lord Tyrell, and replied:
- Stannis Baratheon is loyal. And from the little I know of Doran Martell, he would never be that impulsive. In fact, what makes them think that Elia would be part of a conspiracy that would put her own children in danger?
- Elia can be a pawn. - Rhaegar spoke.
"Your Majesty." Tywin went to the corner table to fill his wineglass. - Maybe this situation is a boon for you.
- Explain - Asked the King.
- With Elia married, those who still oppose you lose their strongest argument against your union with the Queen: you live in sin. And they will never dare to call their children bastards.

Lord Tywin's argument was extremely persuasive, and the king ceased to oppose the union.

* After Prince Aegon was born, all the Maesters who examined Elia considered it impossible for her to become pregnant again. In 294, however, a miracle happened: Elia became pregnant, spent the pregnancy bedridden, came between life and death, and gave birth to a child, which the Maesters said would not last that night. Elia lived, and so did her son. Named Steffon Baratheon, that boy defied all odds, and one day his name would be remembered throughout the kingdom...

Steffon.png

The Wolf and The Sun

In the last chapter we covered a little bit about engagements and the beginning of the rivalry between Queen Lyanna and Princess Rhaenys. But at the beginning of 297 a.C, the King had reason to believe that things could be resolved... if the feud hadn't erupted once more that year.

During a banquet at the court, the Queen took the opportunity to speak, thanking all the lords who attended her party. Rhaegar had placed the Princess and Queen side by side, perhaps to show the kingdom that their family was united. But if he planned it, he failed. Witnesses said the princess was overcooked in Dornish wine. After the Queen's speech, she asked to speak:

- Let's toast my dear stepmother! My father's second queen!

The king was furious. That was a clear provocation. He ordered Lord Commander Barristan to lock her in her quarters until further notice.

It is unknown if alcohol made her make this decision, but the princess donned servant clothes and fled the Red Keep, bound for Dragonstone, where Aegon was.

She was received by Ser Jaime Lannister, the prince's royal guard.

- Sister - The prince spoke - What are you doing here?
- I need you, my dear prince. - Rhaenys said with a sweet voice.

Nobody really knows what happened. Pycelle says that Rhaenys seduced her brother. The Master of Dragonstone swears that Aegon was in love with the princess. The fact is, the next morning a septon wed Aegon and Rhaenys. (The maester says the screams the night before were unmistakable. Jaime Lannister also guarantees that the marriage was consummated the night before)

When the news reached the Red Keep, Rhaegar was furious:
- STUPID CHILDREN! HOW COULD I HAVE HAD TWO IRRESPONSIBLE LIKE THEM?
A silence fell over the council. Even the Hand of the King was silent. Ser Myles Moonon was the one who broke the ice.
- Maybe we can annul the marriage... If they haven't consummated yet.
- Do you think we're fools, Ser Myles? - Said the queen - Rhaenys is not a silent sister. Aegon may be inexperienced, but I assure you that my dear stepdaughter is not. She must punish them dear.
- Take Dragonstone from the boy. Name Prince Aemon - Mace Tyrell suggested. - Your great-grandfather did the same thing when your Duncan disobeyed him!
"Duncan married a peasant girl, Lord Tyrell," Lord Varys replied.
- And Rhaenys is no peasant, on the contrary - Tywin took the word for himself - She is a princess, and loved by the people. And what about Aegon? As far as I know, the knights regard him as Aemon the Dragonknight, reborn.
- Engagements have been announced for the entire kingdom! - Protested the queen - They were married on our backs and the nobles! It will be a scandal!
- ENOUGH OF THAT! - Fired the King - Maester Pycelle, immediately call my sons to court. I will work it out.

AegonVII.png
Rhaenys.png

Rhaegar calmed down. He paid well for Dragonstone's servants and the Septon not to leak the secret marriage. He threw a grandiose party for his children's wedding and closed the matter. Furthermore, he announced that now Aemon and Visenya would marry when the girl was old enough.

Rhaenys Aegon.png

Aegon and Rhaenys remained at court for some time, and it reignited an old rivalry.

When Robb Stark was sent to King's Landing as a hostage when he was 7 years old, the queen insisted that her nephew be raised with princes. The heir of Winterfell and his cousin Aemon were inseparable, and he was on good terms with the other three and even Rhaenys. However, early on, Robb and Aegon feuded. Whether it was for the girls' attention or small disputes in training, they always fought. This affected as they both grew up, but changed during the wedding festivities.

Ned Stark attended with his other children, Alarra, a 13-year-old girl, Jonella, 9, and Bran, 7. The boys are young, and they will appreciate wine at a party. The trouble began when Prince Aegon decided to ask Lady Alarra for a dance. Robb found it disrespectful.

- You just got married and you ask my sister to dance?! he said indignantly.
Aegon disagreed. He said he was being gentlemanly. The two continued to quarrel, until Robb drew his sword in the middle of the hall.
- Duel with me, if you are worthy of your title!
- You sure aren't. - Provoked Aegon - Get out of my way, you piece of shit.
Robb fumed and put the sword in the way. Aegon was about to pull his own when the King intervened.
- You two! If you can't behave yourself, leave the party! Are you really going to ruin your marriage, Aegon?!
Aegon then gave up taking any thoughtless action.
- Yes, Your Majesty.
- Apologize to each other! - demanded the king
The two guys shook hands and apologized, but clearly there was no sincerity between them.

Even in this period, the kingdom lost the great Barristan, the Bold. After serving three kings, the old Lord Commander died peacefully in his quarters.

Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, was named Lord Commander, but it didn't last long. 1 year later, Ser Arthur died while hunting bandits outside of King's Landing.

Jaime Lannister was called Dragonstone and was named Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. The king gave vacancies to Ser Jacelyn Bywater and Ser Lyn Corbray.

KG.png

In 299 a.C, the Dowager Queen Rhaella died. She never recovered from her husband's abuse and spent the last few years quite isolated in her quarters.

From the Vale came the news that the little Senhora do Vale had died. Many suspected that she had been murdered, by her cousin and heir, Lord Denys Arryn. This was never proven, and Denys inherited it with no problems.

Princess Daenerys was sent to Highgarden, where she married Lord Willas Tyrell, and Viserys eventually married Alysandra Lannister.

That same year, Princess Visenya reached the age of marriage. The king would not spare any money and announced that he would hold a tournament to celebrate the union. The entire realm had been invited, and an event of this pomp would be perfect to close the second century of Aegon's Conquest.

From that moment on, tensions would only increase.

Interesting to see what becomes of Steffon, I could see him aligning with his halfbrother Aegon against Aemon should worst come to worst.

The future is a little worrying for the throne however, Robb Stark will one day be Lord of the North and it is not promising he is not well dispositioned to the heir apparent so Aemon could take advantage of that to counter Aegons connection with Storms End.

Well, Rhaegar's authority seems mostly nominal in marriages. Aegon and Rhaenys and Stannis and Elia?

I wonder if this will make the upcoming civil war have more than two sides. Viserys does still exist, after all, and some kingdoms might want independence...

Steffon's birth can be said to be a miracle (Elia had something like 10% fertility!) and he will be a very important character in the history of Westeros for years to come.

Robb from this timeline is still going to cause a lot of trouble! The rivalry with Aegon is just the beginning. A very interesting character.

Yeah, Rhaegar wasn't too happy with the marriages, but he eventually gave in.

No doubt. Viserys is still a prince and many lords may turn to him against Rhaegar's bloodline!

Reading this just in time for HOTD, really looking forward to more

Thanks! I'll be posting the next chapter soon! I hope you're enjoying it.

CHAPTER III
A New Century: Hope and Prosperity: 299 a.C - 302 a.C
The Great Marriage of 299 a.C

Aemon and Visenya's wedding festivities were unprecedented. King Rhaegar hired theatrical companies across the Narrow Sea, the finest bards in all of Westeros, and ordered the greatest tournament King's Landing had ever seen be held. The wedding was set for the turn of the century.

Lords of all the great houses gathered in the capital for the wedding. From the North, Lord Eddard and his wife Catelyn, with their youngest children came. From the Reach, Willas Tyrell and Daenerys came to pay their respects*, as did Lord Denys Arryn of the Vale and Edmure Tully with his wife, Cersei Lannister. Even the Imp, Tyrion, was called the capital by his father, along with his children from his second marriage, Alysandra (who would stay to marry Viserys) and Harrold.

Aegon and Rhaenys came from Dragonstone to attend the brothers' wedding, but two absences were noted. Stannis Baratheon stayed at Storm's End, and sent his brother Renly instead. Doran Martell didn't attend the wedding either, but he avoided sending Oberyn to King's Landing again, so he sent Arianne, his heir.

The festivities began with the long-awaited tournament. All the great knights of the realm took part in the jousts, from Prince Aegon to Lord Denys Arryn, and even Robb Stark (The Heir of Winterfell was not a knight, but he entered the jousts anyway).

* Mace Tyrell was very ill and did not attend. He passed away less than half a year later.

The festivities began with the long-awaited tournament. All the great knights of the realm took part in the jousts, from Prince Aegon to Lord Denys Arryn, and even Robb Stark (The Heir of Winterfell was not a knight, but he entered the jousts anyway).

During the tournament, tragedy struck. Following the draw of the clashes, Renly Baratheon would face Kingsguard Alyn Hunt, one of the most skilled spear warriors of his generation. When the two men's spear met, Renly was thrown from his horse and fell unconscious. He never woke up again. The blow to the head he suffered from the fall was so severe that the Maesters said that even if he survived, he would be confined to a bed for the rest of his life. He died 5 days later, aged just 23.

Despite this, the tournament continued and the kingdom was entertained. Prince Aegon took down Jacelyn Bywater of the Kingsguard, Lord Jaime Lannister took down Alyn Hunt and Robb Stark, as well as Willas Tyrell. The final joust would be between the prince and the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. And Jaime Lannister didn't seem to mind that he was up against the heir to the throne, as he gave it his all and toppled Aegon, winning the tournament. Her choice as Queen of Love and Beauty was Edmure Tully's wife and his sister, Cersei.

The wedding took place in the Sept of Baelor. Aemon and Visenya switched cloaks. A legion of nobles was there and they all bowed as the High Septon announced that the union was sealed. The common people gathered outside to greet the newlyweds. Everything looked perfect. The kingdom was full of hope.

At the banquet, A wide table at the top of the hall gathered all her children. He himself asked Aegon to side with Aemon and Rhaenys to side with Visenya. Beside them were Baeryn and Gael, still children.

The guests brought the most luxurious ones. The new Lord of the Iron Islands, Balon Greyjoy, offered the couple an elephant, captured in their looting in the Disputed Lands. Paxton Redwyne brought Arbor's finest wine. But the most opulent gift came from Denys Arryn, who presented Aemon with nothing less than Valyrian Steel armor, acquired in Lys.

During her time in King's Landing, Princess Rhaenys was delighted to discover that she was pregnant. The king was ecstatic, and ordered two more days of celebrations before his sons returned to Dragonstone.

Everything seemed to be going well, but events that took place that night would have repercussions. According to maesters and septas, Daenerys was a naive girl when it came to the opposite sex... It is unknown if the Princess was not sober, but what happened next could scandalize the kingdom.

At the council meeting following the wedding, Willas Tyrell, indignantly, entered the Meeting Room with his men. They brought a servant. King Rhaegar, Lord Tywin, Lord Velaryon and Lord Commander Jaime were in the room.

- Your Majesty! shouted the heir of Highgarden, clearly nervous.
- What is it?! - Asked Tywin Lannister - How dare you invade our council, Lord Willas? Unless something important has happened, this is a matter.
- It happened, Lord Tywin. Tell them - Willas said to the man his soldiers were holding, clearly scared.
- P-please, my lord, I only light the fireplaces, don't put me in an untenable situation... - Begged the servant.
- Say! - Ordered Willas.
- R-right. On the wedding day, your majesty, I was finishing my business in the rooms, when I saw two young men entering a room.
- And what's with it? - Asked the king.
- Well, I know whose rooms are... They belong to Robb Stark. And the girl he was with was unmistakable... It was Princess Daenerys, Your Majesty.
Rhaegar spat out the wine.
- What?!
- Your Majesty, I demand that you punish this Stark Boy immediately! And I want to divorce my whore wife! Or I'll do it another way! - Said Willas
Rhaegar was angry.

- Touch a finger on my sister and you will lose your head. - Rhaegar warned - Lord Jaime, I want you to bring Princess Daenerys here!

It didn't take long for the Kingsguard to seek out the princess and take her to the council. She saw her brother, the lords and her husband there. Rhaegar didn't even need to ask, as the girl burst into tears.

"Arrest Robb Stark immediately," the King ordered furiously. "And tell the servants to pack up Lord Willas and my sister." They will return to Upgarden as soon as possible.
Willas tried to protest, but Rhaegar didn't give him a chance.
- That never happened, Lord Willas. I will settle this matter and you will respect Daenerys as your wife. Remember again, if you touch her with the intent to harm, I will lay your head on the walls of King's Landing. Am I clear?
- Yes, Your Majesty! I ask for your forgiveness. - Willas begged.
- It's done. Your honor will not be tarnished. The traitor will get the punishment he deserves.
Willas and Daenerys left. They went straight to the Reach.

Pycelle reports that Rhaegar considered cutting off Robb Stark's head. And he would have, had it not been for the Queen's intervention. Robb was imprisoned in his chambers, and the Queen ran in fury to demand an explanation from the King. Rhaegar asked everyone on his advice to leave the room.

"He betrayed the kingdom," Rhaegar said.
- What are you going to do? - The queen asked.
“He deserves death, this asshole, and he really should.
- No! - Asked Lyanna - Don't kill him! Robb is still my brother's heir. Want to create a crisis with Winterfell?
- That bastard created a crisis with Highgarden! - Shouted the King - If I let him go unpunished, the Tyrells will never forgive me, and they certainly won't make a point of stifling the scandal!
Lyanna tried to get around.
- Right... I know he's wrong. But please don't cut off his head. Send him to the Disputed Lands.
- I'll send him to the Wall.
- The wall is forever, my lord. Exile him to Essos for a few years and let him learn from his mistakes.
- He dishonored my sister! It's an adulterer!
- He made a mistake! - The Queen shouted - You were also married when we fell in love! Robb admires you, Majesty, and he will be a loyal Warden of the North! Do you Want to spoil it?
Rhaegar and Lyanna argued for hours, but they came to an agreement: Robb Stark was exiled from Westeros for 8 years. For the realm not to discover the real reason, the king said that the heir of Winterfell wanted to improve his skill with swords. Robb joined several mercenary groups, but he really stood out in the Golden Company...

And this way, the third century of the Targaryen Reign began.

Reactions:
Edmure and Cersei is an interesting pairing, I hope Edmure doesnt draw any jousts against Jamie Lannister.

Are you using an additional traits mod? I saw some unfamiliar looking ones.

Will be interesting to see what kind of man Robb is when he returns from his exile.

Not specifically. I'm using a mod called Dark Ages, which digs deeper into the political aspect of the game, and adds some traits. (After I started my save, some people told me that More Bloodlines was a must-have submod, but I didn't want to start again. And it really looks amazing! Next time I'll use it ha ha ha)
