Will the people of America really vote for a crackpot like Smith?

Guess Landon has to be careful not to lose the progressive vote to Roosevelt, even if he's securing the conservative vote (who would haven't voted for Roosevelt in any case).

@ Kurt_Steiner: LOL! I'm not sure that would be in the best interests of the United States, that said, the same could be said for about half the candidates who have ever ran for the office of President in our entire history.

@ KaiserMuffin: Thanks for dropping by, I'm glad you've like it so far. Hopefully you won't be disappointed as the years go by.

@ c0d5579: So you're voting for Alf now! Maybe the next president should use a fictional creature as his campaign mascot! :p

@ White_Knight: Yup, FDR maybe pushed a bill into law a little bit too early, and during the election campaign nonetheless. That's the quickest way to let an opponent start catching up in the polls... sign a bill into law that makes a bunch of people upset and angry at you and your opponent takes advantage of it.

@ FlyingDutchie: The nation may not vote for a crackpot demagogue like Smith, but they just vote for him if he's sticking to Huey Long's Share our Wealth plan, which he is doing as of right now. As for Landon, he can't lose his Progressive base to FDR, and has to keep the Conservatives otherwise he'll have less a chance now than he did in 1936 in RL.

Oooo this is shaping up to be a much more interesting campaign than historically. Good to see Landon putting some energy into his campaigning under his own steam rather than having some oil man do it for him :D

Looking forward to seeing how the states go, will we see the GOP breaking into Solid South?! Will it even be solid for the Democrats anyway if the Union Party make some headway????

Absolutely! This campaign is going to be very interesting to watch and see what happens come Election Day. I think it will come down to what the Union Party is able to accomplish to determine who will become the next President, just a guess.

Game Crash... sorry guys, need to reinstall HoI and what not. :(

Tell me it's a belated April's fool joke...

Shit.

Let's hope you manage to fix it after the reinstall-thing...

Agreed, this AAR is very good and it would be a real shame if it dies.

Landon is catching up as Election Day gets closer. The beauty is that he doesn't need to win the popular vote - he just has to get to 266 electoral votes.

I am sorry to hear that. :(

Good luck, volksmarschall.
