A Tale Of Two Games:

This mod, originally created by myself, was originally intended for my LAN group and we played through the original scenario nigh endless times; but said endless times seem to have come to an end. Yet as I wiped my computer, I came across the files and recognizing the hundreds of hours I dropped into this project I couldn't delete it. Yet my LAN-group had moved onto Victoria and I quickly found V: Revolutions to be consuming the vast majority of my time. Thus I bequeath this mod to anyone who wishes to continue in its development.

The time has finally arrived to move on, and I would like to thank all those who helped me when I hit road blocks. Regardless you can expect a new Victoria mod from me in about two months. In the interim take care all, and give the Germans a surprise or two.

NOTE: This Mod is entirely my work (short of the unlimited time mod and hexadecimal Lord Eledon package) and I would appreciate being consulted before you utilize my work in your own mods (especially the artwork ).

Please Note:

This Mod Is In Version 0.3

This mod is for all intents and purposes complete and provides a very detailed alternative history spanning from the Anglo-French Canadian Civil War to the French Imperial intervention (in support of the Catalists) in Spain.

The two files listed bellow contain the Mod in two different forms:

The first file is the .exe installer which will install the game simply through the process of two easy mouse clicks.

Imperial Alpha Mod Executable File

The second file is an .rar archive which contains the original mod files in the folders that correspond to your basic HOI:2 Doomsday installation. This archive is purely intended for modders who want to add their own work. :)

Imperial Alpha Mod Archive

This project was incredibly time consuming, but if you desire any technical support or want me to re-package the .exe including your additions you can reach me via my email (exiled.traveler@gmail.com).

FINALLY: A big thanks to all the supportive modders who helped me when I began modding this gargantuan project as well as special thanks to Core Modders: Jules and Jordite who were instrumental in keeping me on task with this project. Napoleon, Josephine, how can I ever forget them...

So Don't Let Them Die- Get Modding

and as always:

LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE

I have a few sneak previews for you:

The Story From The French Perspective

The years following the First World War were a disaster for France as she was financially drained and suffering from the physical lack of manpower, associated with the “hollow classes.” Worsening the failings of France on the foreign front was the lack of effective leadership back home. The state was politically divided by conflicting views of the nature of government. Anarchists, Social Democrats, Communists, and Fascists all competed for populist support while neglecting, the rise of a reinvigorated Nationalist Germany to the east. Perhaps the greatest sign of the political atmosphere in France was the construction of the Maginot Line. It was constructed to ensure the German armed forces couldn’t seek revenge for their lost provinces in the First World War. At a cost of over three billion Franks, the Maginot line was incredibly expensive, and put the French military primarily on the defensive. Yet on April 12, 1935, the French would be ushered back towards the Crown of Europe. Faced with constant Army cut backs and never ending domestic strife the Army whole heartedly backed Napoleon’s coup and thus at 12:00 Midnight, Napoleon the Fifth (a French General and the grandson of Napoleon the First’s brother) put into action a near bloodless coup. Six elite Gendarmerie (military police) divisions backed up with armored car brigades assailed the Luxembourg Palace (location of the French Senate), overran the Republican Guard units and captured the legislature. Three Communist and two Anarchist senators were executed. When the French awoke they were awed by the sudden change of Government, but after years of corrupt, and incompetent government most French were content to give Napoleon power to establish some semblance of order. Five days later, a universal plebiscite elected Napoleon the Fifth Emperor of the Second French Imperium, the Empire, and the French, under a constitution which enshrined French culture as the “Center of Europe.” That evening, Napoleon stood atop the Arch de Triumph, and gave the famous “Forgotten Glory Speech.” As Napoleon spoke of a revisited French Empire, straddling the globe, the statues bellow depicted heroically nude French youths battling against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. The Nationalist message was clear and France was swept up in a national fervor which has yet to abide. As September 1936 approaches, Napoleon has created an alliance between Danish Scandinavia, Poland, and Turkey, effectively isolating Germany. His reforms have rebuilt the French Economy through a series of public work programs and massive military upgrades. He has furthermore set his Imperial troops along the Belgian Border in preparation to liberate the (primarily) French people residing their. Is a war with Germany inevitable? What of Mussolini’s intentions? Can the Austrian’s turn the tide? Have no doubt, the Nazis will strike first the only question you must ask yourself is “Where do you stand?”

Enjoy. :)

This looks great... will it work with Doomsday?

Thanks

Actually it would be the Third French Imperium; the Second was Napoleon III's ;)
Which leads to an amusing situation: the German Third Reich and the French Third Empire competing for continental domination, under the watchful eye of the UK ;)

Actually acording to the oxford history text book Napoleon the thirds regime as it failed to control any other people or territories (outside of modern France) is described as the first french imperium.

So Based of My Grasp of History...

Napoleon I: First French Empire
Napoleon II (Died Young): King of Rome/Romaia
Napoleon III: First French Imperium
Napoleon IV: Second French Empire (assuming that you conquer most of Germany) and the Second French Imperium (Based of my Reckoning)

Anyway, for the inents and purposes of this mod I am arguing the the First French Imperium (which had a dismal foreign policy) wasn't an empire, but hey to each his own and thanks for the feedback.

Enjoy the Mod,

You Could Grade Cheese Off This Mod

Hello All,

I never thought I'd find my self saying this but I have discovered some free time coming up, so I wanted to put out the word that I would be available to heavily continue this mod. Here's the long and short of it; of the (Now 100+) people who have tried this mod, what would you like to see changed/made?

HEy, I tried to download it, and the file says it's been deleted.

Thanks For The Insight

Thanks for mentioning that the link didn't work. I have rehosted the mod (simply click on the links above) and am still waiting for any thoughts in regards to expanding the mod.

Also I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look (in the archive) at my events as some seem to not fire or fire improperly, but I can't find the time to mod Asia and simultaneously fix events in Canada ;) .

It crashes a few days after I go to war with Belgium, for some reason.
