THE ETERNAL CITY

WARNING: SPOILERS for those reading the AAR (including the description below). But since I'm not going to get there for quite some time, you may want to download this anyway if you can't wait.

Thread for discussion.

In the 9th century, one of the grandsons of Charlemagne manages to keep his empire from splitting. From this descends the second Roman Empire. The Empire unites Europe under its rule and destroys the power of the Muslims in the Holy Land. But internal turmoil ends up being unavoidable. In 1418, the Empire is torn apart by rebellion. In Rome itself, a second Republic appears. The Emperor flees to Spain, and a new age dawns...

For more information, read the AAR in my sig.

How to install: Open (not unzip) the file. Copy the folder inside and paste it into your Europa Universalis 2 folder. Open up that folder, right-click on the "Rome" shortcut, and click on "Properties". In the "Target" box, there should be two file paths. Change the paths on each to fit your EU2 installation. Click "Apply", then "OK". Double click on the shortcut to install. :)

V. 1.1

Changes:
  • Now compatible with patch 1.09.
  • Added monarchs for several nations.
  • Added leaders for some of them.
  • Added French Revolution events for Aquitania and Gallia Transalpina.
  • Gave Coptic culture to Aegyptus, so the smaller Egyptian provinces won't change culture (hopefully).
  • Valentianus now dies earlier.
  • Gallia Transalpina no longer has Muslim names suddenly show up as monarchs in the 16th century.
  • Sicilia, Sardinia, Corsica, and Dalmatia now independent.
  • Venice greatly reduced: Greek islands divided between Cyprus, Byzantium, and Albania; Dalmatia and Istria independent.
  • Gave Judaea an army.
  • Britannia and Scotia start at war w/Anglia.
  • Gave Britannia a couple leaders at start to help fight Henry V.
  • Cappadocia, Anatolia, and Trebizond no longer Byzantine vassals.
  • Mali pre-collapsed.
  • France's position improved to make union of France a bit easier.
  • Of course, if one of the other two countries do defeat France and take Paris, they now can become France themselves.
  • Fixed some minor Latin mistakes in text.csv.
  • Added Latin names for certain rivers and lakes
  • Anglian culture changed to "Saxon", spread to Northern Germany.
  • Ak Koyunlu and Mesopotamia made part of Turcia
  • Kiev, Kazan, and Astrakhan made part of Sarmatia
  • Tech years moved back:
    --1400s: 5 years
    --1500s: 4 years
    --1600s: 3 years
    --1700s: 2 years
    --1800s: 1 year
  • Changed location of HRE provinces (and electors) to Iberia
  • Icon for the shortcut.
  • Made some adjustments to the AI:
--Added AI files for Britannia and Rome
--Changed French AI file to hopefully encourage it to look southward.
