The Last Great Huzzah! Friday Game

I'm thinking of starting a friday game which will act as quite possibly my last EU2 Multiplayer game before immigrating to EU3 Multiplayer.

It will be the 1419 Watk scenario, standard rules but with some differences.

Culture/Core Claiming:

You need 65% of the provences to claim your first 2 cultures, on the condition it is connected via land to your capitol and have held it for at least 40 years, but when you officially ingame "claim" your culture any nation can challenge you to prevent for for a period of 10 years from claiming the culture as your own. After the first 2 it will require +10% per culture claimed, so your third wil be 75, 4th 85, 5th 95 and all others after that 100%. with anyone able to challenge you each time and each culture after your second will require high centralization.

Cores require that the 75% culture has been held for at least 50 years, also on the condition it is conected via land to your capitol and have a centralization of 8.

Notice an exception are Island nations and Denmark. And island nation can claim 2 colonial cultures a slongas they hold 100% of the provs of that culture but no cores since they are overseas.

Standard Manufactury edit/moving rules except that at a cost of 25% war score you can demand a manfactory which will be via edit moved to a provence in your national territories of your choice. However you can't take say 3 provences with manus and move them. See how this balances out?

Basically you can demand manus in a war but at a high WS, if you take provinces with manus to get around this, it wont work because yuo cant move the manus to more important national provinces.

The Culture claiming rule provides a balance as well, I've seen alot of games where England, Portugal, Spain become uber power with their over seas colonies while larger land based empires are disadvantaged from being horrid at trade and usually have horrid MI the entire game.

So you can be a small island nation and dominate several CoT's but you can still be counter balanced by soem fairly large empires.

Also, the map will be edited to provide historical balance to central/east asian nations and to Europe, I wish to raise fortification levels in Europe to more accurately reflect the staticness of European warfare.

There will be random leaders provided, I'm gonna ask Tonio to help out in regards I'm thinking random generals/admirals can be determinable by polcies example a heavy land/quality nation will get obviously more generals but also GOOD generals while a nation with say quantity over quality will get crappier random generals more often.

Edit Rules:

You can when at peace at a cost of 3 stab move your capitol to a core/same culture provence.

I wanna make this an uber game, the best game of eu2 ever before moving on to EU3.

So request your top 3 choices.

Moscovy
China
England

Let the fighting for first picks Begin, I'll be GM, I'll be choosing a coGM based on the most experianced player who signs up. Also to up the ante I want all European spots filled before getting asian nations.

EDIT: Okay Timmies and Japan while recieving edits to reflect historical accuracy will probly not be played I aim to have every single european nationed filled first only if we have extra players interested will I consider making them playable.

General game Settings
Have fun. And play dirty.

Rules:
  1. Obey the GM. He is your God-Emperor.
  2. The GM is responsible for all edits or delagation of them.
  3. The "Custom" flair rules or customizable, meaning that the campaign may be tweaked with prior notice wth the affect only taking place the session after.
  4. The GM reserves the right to edit out the effect of a bug, when he thinks this is necessary. See rule 1.
  5. There's a stab hit rule to prevent eternal wars:
    • If you have been at war for 6 years or more with another nation
    • and that nations sends you a stabhitting peaceoffer
    • and you are at stab -3
    • and the peace offer is based upon a warscore of -99 for you,
then you must accept the stab hit peace offer.
Note: it is recommended that you pause the game and inform your opponent that you are about to force him to a peace this way, then he can check the current WS.
  6. **After each session I will edit out the vassals of each nation with centralization below level '8' and a maximum manpower pool of at least '50'. This way, high manpower nations will not profit too much from the manpower bug. You have always Ten years the time to diplo-annex though.
  7. Naval nations (nations with the land/naval slider below 5) aren't allowed to sign TA's with other human played naval nations. This to break the traditional trade blocks and promote trade wars.
  8. In 1575 and 1650 I will edit in 1% inflation for each 3 gold mine you own outside Europe. TP's count too.
  9. Prussia will be created no matter what. If someone else (like Poland) will take the Prussia province, Prussia will still be created
  10. Everyone who will be on time for the session will get a cookie for the next session. You can choose between 1% deflation, a scaled stategift or -3 badboy. But you must post request in AAR thread.
  11. If you get vassalised by a human player you must stay that way for 20 years, unless the overlord chooses to break it. After 20 years the vassal can break vassalage, the overlord can then choose to attack them after that again or let them go.
    As a vassal :
    • You cannot enter any other alliance than that of your overlord.
    • You must accept a proposal of TA/MA from your overlord.
    • You are not allowed to start any wars without permission of your overlord
    • You are *not* required to dow someone at the command of your overlord, send him cash at his command or generally help your overlord if *he* is the agressor in a war.
  12. Using certain exploits is forbidden. See below for more details:
General rule: if you think something is an exploit, then it is likely that it is one. When in doubt ask the GM.

The following is forbidden. The list is probably not complete.

  • Breaking truces if provinces were exchanged.
  • Releasing one or more vassals during wartime, to hinder an enemy.
  • Force-burning of manufactories, i.e. repeated move and halt orders to an army in a province with a manufactory.
  • Using lag to your advantage. This includes (but is not limited to): Sending lag colonists, building lag fortresses, sending lag missionaries, using lag diplomats. (The exception is using lag diplomats to send cash).
  • Declaring a 'fake' war on a country, with the aim to:
    • Increase the stability of the nation you declare war on.
    • Change the religion of a protestant or Counter-Reformed-Catholic nation back to Catholicism before the Edict of Tolerance.
  • Exploiting Simultanity: Using the game engine to break a deal, that would occur simultaneously in the real word. This includes (but is not limited to) the 'sale' of something in game.
  • Converting from Catholiscism to either Counter-reformed-Catholicism or Protestantism and then switching back to Catholiscism before the Edict of Tolerance.
  • Trading maps with the AI.
  • Sending loans to the AI.
  • Signing a peace deal with the AI, that bankrupts it in the same day.
  • Breaking a truce, except when the truce is a result of a province swap deal in game. You are not allowed to dow AI alliance members of someone you have a truce with.

The following is allowed:

  • Not leaving a human alliance, despite the alliance leader asking you to do so.
  • Landing armies in the port of a country you are in war with, because you still have Military Access.
  • Sacking capitals for maps
  • Stealing sieges

Japan*:

*Iffy nations that I'm not going to require to be played for the first session, Japan would need MAJOR edits to approch its historical economic power relative to Europan Power and would need a conquistadore/explorer to have any hope of expansion. Venice I fear would get its ass kicked by OE and Hab and France and will really make any player sad and the Timmurids (especially if played by Ego) would give Russia a really hard time.

**Does a game with BOTH nations make any rational sense?

At Sid Meier's request I've split off the first post of his old, now locked, thread so the players can again chat.

A reminder - no more abuse of other posters will be tolerated. This includes taunting, name-calling, insults and other uncivil behaviour. Further breaches will result in bans of any players involved. This is the last warning.

thank you andrew, but because of timezone differences I am usually asleep when most of my players are on, I will try to do a better job at policing in the future.

Thx Andrew. Much more for finishing that discussion then for allowing us to copy first post. :)

All right, then let's move on.

The Brandemburg Electorate asks for a global white peace between Austria and my Alliance, The actions taken by the former won't happen again, Bburg wishes to coexist peacefully with the rest of European Powers.

Given the circunstances, i support the bradenburgians, since their past ruler is gone and our relations are good at the moment. If Austria does not peace with them, Talbot and Beauchamp will have to pay the habsburg emperor a little visit in Wien.

Also how are we generating random leaders? (I am very, very against MT)

I am against any random leader at all. I joined the game with the principle there would be none, only historicals, else by now i wasnt in england.

From rules:

There will be random leaders provided, I'm gonna ask Tonio to help out in regards I'm thinking random generals/admirals can be determinable by polcies example a heavy land/quality nation will get obviously more generals but also GOOD generals while a nation with say quantity over quality will get crappier random generals more often.

there are a dozen good reeasons why were gonna have random leaders Ego and were having them.

Based on this principle, i will have 0 generals since i will go with naval slider as england. And everyone always goes quality, so everyone will get ubber leaders - is it just me or i think this is a bit... bad?

If we are using MT leaders, i think we should re-adjust the calculation somehow, while keeping the historical leaders everyone has - by re-adjusting the calculation, leaders like Suvorov/Napoleon/Fred, etc, will still be the best of their era. However, that is just my opinion.

Concerning the ongoing war between aus and BB and it's allies, it was initiated and fought between the allies of both nation and the only reason we allowed it to continue was that BB wasn't the leader of his alliance and could not wp the whole alliance, peace will be given as soon as these allies see fit to accept wp proposals.

Im thinking of keeping with the default historical explorerdudes, i noticed in QFC2 that after a certain point the generated random exploerdudes are useless.

not sure I understood it but it seemed as I got an admiral although I don't have a navy... but then again I'm not very familliar with these kind of systems...
