I often have a hard time to pay attention to the middle-bottom-right (well Im left handed if that means anything here:D) and once the time runs out it simply make an automatic choice without giving me a chance to make a choice. It would be nice if the event window popped up and allow me to make the choice once the time runs out:)

I love these events, so I pause and click on them. Most seem to give you popularity or much needed stability :)

Worth the pause, but I pause a lot and play on speed 4-5. If I am clicking, I am paused.

Agreeing - either what you suggested in the OP, Denkt, or an optional choice in the message settings to get them displayed as normal events as soon as they happen (I personally don't mind these "interruptions")

I know its a old thread. But please make a option to see them as a normal event.
Seconded. I want this. Some of these events have "nothing happens" as the default first option and something super good as the non-default. So missing them through being distracted or whatever is a huge pain in the arse. Things like minor inconvenience that have 6 stability for a mere 18 ducats is a must click 100% of the time, missing out on that sucks. I'd much rather have the queued events pop up like normal events

Agreed. I really like these events as they have great RP value, but I often end up missing them before they disappear. Ability to have them pop up as proper events would be nice.

We need more message options in general. I need for example a notification when i want)) when national parameters like colonial ventures time out or children need a tutor. I want to go into options and choose what is important for me and what not.

This. They are WAY to easy to miss as it stands now.

or make them more "flashy", add a distinct sound, or make them blink, or let us move the queued events thing somewhere else where we more easily spot things etc.

I agree. The default option being the sucky one seems bit of an odd choice. It's almost like a game in itself- "Can you spot the event". I don't like it.

Schemes ending should give a notification, proving legitimacy especially so

I would also support this. I realize too many pop-ups could be annoying in multiplayer, where missing an army movement can lose a war. But I am role-playing on speed 1 and pause, so I want to see every event there is.

And, at least on single-player, most of the default choices give you a pop-up about a stability hit anyway, so you get the annoying pop-up without the mildly interesting decision!

You can already do the former...just be prepared to drown into the information glut you are starting with this, as this setting will note you about each of your characters finishing a scheme, regardless how trivial it is.

I took the effort to dig deep into my memory for my forum password just to support this request. I don't know since what version of the game these events have been in the game, but I only noticed them yesterday. I would love to have the option to see popups for:

  • events from the event queue
  • reminders to pick a tutor
  • scheme ends (at least for your leader)

Or maybe just have it when your characters scheme ends... like I'm pretty sure thats what Battlex meant.

I have no idea what bright spark thought that not having important event messages not pop up or have the option to customise what they do on them was a viable idea.

The queued message queue is frequently of more use than the important message queue (No Lucius I won't give you a council seat)

I noticed only several hundred years into my first campaign that you can get stabillity for pennies.... I must have missed hundreds of stability that would have had helped me a lot. There should never be choices in queued events. It's stupid and makes no sense. No other paradox game has this.

It was implemented when stability in particular mattered a whole lot less because happiness was tied directly to AE as I recall. So paying for stability wasn't always such a great choice. But now, when it's "do nothing" or "pay 18 gold for 6 stab" I'm gonna take option two every. Single. Time. Even if I was thousands of gold in debt for some reason. There is literally never ever a scenario in which I wouldn't. A sort of "show this message as a pop-up" or "delegate this message to the sidebar" function would indeed be very nice.

I would rather just swap the options. If I am small at start and cannot afford 18 gold, I am more likely to pay attention and reject stability for pennies. When I am a major or great power, if money is too tight to afford 18 gold, whether because too low income or it affects some specific timing, money is too tight and game needs balancing.
