Information

I have verifed my game files (Steam only)

Yes

I have disabled all mods

Yes

I am running the latest game update

Yes

Required

Summary

The game begins to stutter drastically while panning every 1 to 2 seconds, even while the game is paused.

Description

The game begins to stutter while panning as my empire/realm grows independently of government type, population in the world, or any other aspects that would affect performance. The stuttering occurs while the game is paused, or while time is going. The stuttering happens every 1 - 2 seconds, once again regardless of it is paused or playing. It doesn't matter what graphical settings I have on; the issue persists. I have tried the full screen optimization fix + capping the fps at 60 + 1080p resolution, but once again nothing happens. I have uninstalled the game 3 times, the last one being a FULL clean installation (deleted all documents, moved my saved games to a different folder, and installed everything fresh). I have made the game an exemption for Antivirus checks. I have installed C++ and NET. to see if it helps, but it didn't. I have run the task manager while panning to see where the performance drops may be, but there are none. I have looked at almost every post in here that has to do with screen stuttering while panning and tried almost every fix, and nothing works. I rolled back the game to the previous version 1.14.3 and the issues weren't there, but once I updated the game back the stutter appears again. I am at the roads end. I believe I have reached the limit regarding my basic knowledge regarding Ck3 Troubleshooting. This issue is out of my grasp.

I have a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core (TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz processor, 32.0 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA RTX 4090, water cooling directly to my CPU. My computer is top tier. Performance is not the issue.

I would like to make emphasis to what I mentioned. The issue is not present in update 1.14.3, and instead only appeared since the latest update.

Steps to reproduce

Open the save. Begin panning across the map. Every one to two seconds the screen should stutter while panning (WASD or mouse). You must have a large realm for it to trigger (AKA Byzantines and HRE together realm size), so the safe will reflect this.

Game Version

1.15

Platform

Windows

Hi all!

First of all I want to give a huge apology for the non-existant communication around this issue despite it being prevelant for quite some time. I am happy to confirm that we've just now this minute pushed out a hotfix (1.16.0.1) that should hopefully fix this problem.

If it still issue still persists, please don't hesitate to reply to this thread and let me know. I will reopen this thread for some time until we have confirmation that it now works as previously.

Thank you so so much devs; sorry if anyone in this thread got aggressive or was rude to ya’ll; we love this game and appreciate the amazing work you guys do. Thanks for the fix and the communication (and for Khans of the Steppe!)

Dev team,

It is fixed indeed. Just tested it in many ways. May God bless you all. Thank you all so much for the fix. You have no idea how much we wanted this! We accept your apology, and I also apologize on the behalf of everyone (including myself) who might have got a little "aggressive" or rude. We were just extremely desperate.

We hope and pray that in the future there is a bit more feedback between all parties in terms of bug report regarding this forum. We don't ask for the issues to be fixed immediately, we don't ask for miracles, but only to have official confirmation that to a degree it has been acknowledged... That someone with a Paradox credential is at least aware of this. The player base would TRULY rest at ease.

Once again, thank you so much! Once the mods update I shall conquer the steppe and rule the universe under a single banner. My Khan's.

For anyone curious what was causing this on the thread, I asked an AGOT developer and apparently after looking at the hotfix; it was the AI trying to create a popup to hybridize culture in every single county in the realm. Hence, it was directly proportional to the number of counties held. Here's an image of the code I saw:

While it's good that the devs fixed this particular bug that plagues playing as a large realm, I really hope they acknowledge and work on fixing other issues, such as large admin realm's house power score calculation and AI influence candidacy interactions that should not exist in the first place, much like this particular situation, when it would have been caught by internal testing.
