Yeah, yeah, you're just trying to get him outta there, so you can eat Burgundy asap..;) :D
No. I just say that this is a problematic situation for every player there. You could get much importance, but you could also lose really much. But yeah, if there is one in Scandinavia I think Burgundy works well. Besides, ASAP isn't very fast on VH. I would need to first get my son King and then the 600-800 prestige. The chance of that to get it soon is not very high. But I really don't want to scare anyone away from a country, I just say the truth. And that is that you have no easy play there.

Hey, I was just pulling your leg, you didn't have to write your reasoning in response!;)

I'm interested, but I'm curious as to how it would work, as I've never done either EU or CK over the internet (though I did a LAN game of EU2). Does it work well? How well would it support so many players? If someone can't make it on a particular day, would the AI handle their country?

If it works, then I'd be happy to join in as the King of England - though that would probably make the Duke of Gwynedd uncomfortable. I'd also be willing to take Bohemia if need be.

It works well, unless there's someone with poor connection or poorly set up routers..;)
Connection of 2mbit/s is usually considered good for MP, if there are no problems with other things preventing it to work at close-to-full capacity.

Errr... neither me nor Drachenfire have been added to the main post (the players list)... does that mean we ain't going to play or what?
Also, when are you aiming at a start, next weekend, during this week.....

Cheers

I dont mind anyone as England truely! Ive always wanted to play with a human in Scotland, England, France, and me in Gwynedd! hehe

No, that means I was being lazy and overlooked that.
My humblest apologies.

We're aiming to start this week, I'll summarize current time/day votes later this day and then lets see which day.
But expect us to be a little flexible - my schedule is not always the same, I guess yours aren't too, so if we find a better time, we could change to it.

First post updated with latest player addings.
Ganso, why do you want to play Duchy of Uppland instead of Kingdom of Sweden.
You'd become kingdom soon anyway by the elective law..

Poorly set up routers? Ouch that hurted. By the way, my conection is fixed so do NOT even think about removing my name from the game. :D

Oh, could you post that "Save" where you just created those kingdoms? So we don't actually need to download it in-game.

The 'save' has actually evolved in a very special scenario with a very special name and credits for that scenario belong to our d'Este king of Italy (CSK)..:)

It will be a bit of surprise once you get your hands on it.

Also, everyone wanting to join the game, please set up ICQ (or Miranda) or AIM, and add me to your buddies (my ICQ # is in sig) so that you can contact me anytime!

I have done that. Btw I am still working on it and will post the mod sometimes today. But it will cause a change to 1066, so make a backup of the game, or a new copy of the mod.

I agree with bin, Denmark is small and can very easily be pushed around...while Burgundy can atleast play the powerbalance card, and ask for aid from the neighbourgh against whomever attacked.

I'm not so sure, both Italy and France would want a piece of Burgundy from the start. Depending on the benevolence of the German player isn't a too comfortable starting position.

Denmark, at least, is fairly rich for a small country and has a reasonably large demesne. But I admit I made the choice expecting no other human opposition in the north than Uppland.

Take Denmark, we need more dispersion anyway - right now it feels like West Europe is almost full and the futher from it it gets the less human players there are.

I would sooner see atleast one player in Russia.

Varyar, i would only advise you to play as Denmark if you didn't have a HRE lying around: since i think this HRE plays good, he will grab whole pommerania and lubeck, leaving you without easy pickings. I advise you to choose Norway instead: not only you enjoy better protection, but it is also easier to bash some pagans, not to mention about smashin Sweden (unless that guy really wants to play as Uppland).

binTravkin: I beg you to reconsider changing the current settings. Very Hard is insanity, unless you guys want to grab ONLY 5 non-pagan provinces in 100 years. Change the dificulty to Hard, at least, please ;)

Well, the reaso to go VH was exactly to speed down land grab.
As it is now, the land grab is completely unrealistic.
For example on Normal a duke can easily grab other dukes titles after a decade of prestige stockpiling.
IRL a duke could only make a claim on other duke if he had some ties or he was very influential in the kingdom (preferably having influence to king, who then wouldn't oppose such move)/
It also makes claims a lot more valuable as you'll be wanting to get each and every claim you can (claim events, claim holder joins your courts, claims through marriage, etc).
Even AI won't be so easy grabbing claims. Besides I've noticed that AI grabs claims intelligently on VH, for example king of Hungary in my latest game grabs only Austrian, Polish and Croatian lands, adjacent to his border.

I could consider changing agresiveness as there are problems ensuring AI doesn't attack small nations right away, but I would like to hear a better argument than 'grab only 5 nonpagan provs in 100 years', especially because this argument is not true - my latest game which I started as Navarra, I've already conquered every christian land in Spain, except a badly beaten Leon, and it's only 1114 (which is 50 years from start).

Also please note that one is not allowed to grab king titles anyway, so you wont need those 10000+ prestige. The biggest you could need to grab a duke title would be around 5000, but then you can always simply grab his counties one by one..;)

Updated the rules section.

Actually you are wrong. The Duke of Apulia would be 7000 for the first and 7000 for the second Duke title. It is completly possible that you have to have a lot of prestige based on the strength of a uchy.

You think a poll on difficulty and agresiveness is needed?
