So...it's on script then that everything Lothar touches turns to...well, something that rhymes with shmit? :p;)

Not necessarily -- just that you're not treading down a path we haven't all been down at least once before ;)

But seriously, there are a myriad ways that things can go wrong in this game, whether by the player's own decisions or just simple bad timing. Part of the experience is learning how to anticipate the ones that are preventable, and mitigate the ones that aren't. It's much like the "losing is fun" mentality in Dwarf Fortress (if you're familiar with that game); the point isn't so much that losing in and of itself is enjoyable per se, but that even in defeat there's always something you can learn to apply to the next session.

OK. That was really funny (all look at that link. :D ) I've experienced most of them but not in this new dynamic. I'm not familiar with Dwarf Fortress but I've no problem with learning something even when I go down with extreme prejudice. ;)

A bit late, but I also vote for continuing. :)
Thank you, sir. I plan to as much as I am able.

Coming in over the top, but agree with the consensus. On looting, have you been consulting the ‘looting bar’ for each target province, to check what it can provide and what is left while raiding? It is the ‘flip side’ on the siege screen for holdings, telling you how much gold there is, and what proportion is protected behind walls. An invaluable aid for the dedicated raider. ;)
