For infantry units and the model.csv, I could do that, as I've done the unitnames.csv and most land OOBs. :) I'll be home all next week (January 27th - February 2nd) and should be able to do it before 1.03b.

Sorry guys, I'll have no chance of doing what I promised, as I will be having difficulties with connecting to the internet this whole week. :(

No problem - I'll compile what I have so far. We will use the generic english infantry names for all countries for some time I guess. :)

Help?

- A complete tech tree (gaps filled, restructured, bonuses scrutinised etc)

If the tech trees are done....by done I mean if they just need some pics, texts etc., then I would love to help you.

Just let me now if the trees will remain in the same structure or send me the new ones and I will start adding some pics and text....

Well the tech trees aren't totally completed yet, and they wont be for the next 'interim' version. However, we still need lots of pictures for most techs - just check the tree in the mod to see which ones we don't have...there should be a generic picture in its place.

Rightyo team! What I would like is for a team member, with either the time or the willpower, to write a comprehensive guide to how to install both the ModDir and clean-install versions of the mod, including screenshots to clarify the process. Hopefully the instructions will be so clear to understand that only a complete imbecile will fail to install the thing. I'd suggest that such a document is written as a webpage so that it can be easily referred to, and attached to any of our websites. :)

When it is done, it shall be included in the 1.03b download...

I think we're going to have to create more detailed instructions than that...

I can see some people taking step one - 'delete everything' at face value, for example...

if you need some stuff like pictures, ect hosted i can host them, ive got a 8gb drive on my university's 100mb line.

I hate to be repetitive, but I am anxious to find out - interim release date anyone???

Early March, I think.

A more comprehensive version with an improved tech tree and AI will take a very very long time though. :(

So... I read somewhere that we were promised some sort of interim release this week. Is it gonna happen anytime soon?

I'm going to issue an internal release at some point this week. It will be tested, the problems put right as far as possible, and then 1.03b will be made available after that.

How internal?

Very internal

Can maybe I get to try it?

erm.......no ;)

still no :D

If not. At least tell us how it works!

Given the correct installation, much like any other HOI mod ;)

I hope I gave some clear and unambiguous answers. I might still make a politician, yet

Very straightforward answers I must say. ;)

When asking how it works I was more refering to new features, over all functionality and playability than the technical part.

Well, I want to finish my current game as Germany with 1.02 before installing 1.03...

I have, however, had a quick look at the files you sent, and spotted a problem with Mexico which might be causing the error: the image file for General Huerta is misnamed huera_victoriano_mex.bmp - while the leader file has it correctly as huerta_victoriano_mex.bmp.

I also noticed that the Mexican minister file doesn't refer to this picture - Huerta as minister is just given the "unknown" picture. He and his government are also still listed as CE (Liberal Democrat) when I think PA (Authoritarian Democrat) or even FA would be more realistic. He did seize power in a military coup after the assassination of the previous President, after all - not particularly liberal or democratic... :)

Carranza, Zapata and Villa also do not have their pictures in the Mex and U07 minister files - only the leader file.

I noticed the misnamed Huerta file as well - I rectified it and still the problem persists :(

I think it might have something to do with the 'country which = MEX' command, which essentially ensures that when the Revolutionaries take victory, they inherit the standard Mexican minister and leader files......with Mr. Huerta in charge
