The Gutnavian Adventurers.png
I made this family tree during my most recent multiplayer playthroughs in CK3 from 867 to 1267. I started with Gutvard Blótföðr, a Norseman from Gotland who united the Gutnish trimes to form the Gutnish Kingdom / Kingdom of the Gotingas. His heirs united most of Scandinavia (known in this reality as Gutnavia due the the conquest and proliferation of the Gutnish) and conquered portions of Britain. However their rule was unstable and the 'High Kingdom of the Gotingas' rose and fell many times. Eventually, I chose a younger son and Viking adventured off to Sicily with Taluardu I (birth name Tjelvard) and continued through his Christianised descendants in Sicily, ending with Ruderigu III and V. The blue boxes are for 'High Kings of the Gutingas (Scandinavia basically) and the Green boxes are for the Kings of Sicily, later 'All Italy' and the Roman Empire. My friend started with Magnus Sjorulf as a Viking and seized Normandy, becoming French and Catholic. Eventually they became Kings of England and Brittany. His dynasty is in black.

Please note that occasionally there are some errors where minor deceased characters are incorrectly marked as still alive.

Wow, very cool! :D

Well done!

Looks incredible!

I'd be interested in hearing about your process. Did you take notes during the game? Make multiple save files to fill in details later? Or were you able to accomplish this using just your memory and the information available after a character's death?

Again, great work!

Thanks very much. I took very basic notes on main characters during the game but I was mostly able to fill in the details from the information the game saves after their death (main exception being character screenshots - this has to be done before death for a decent picture). Since this was a multiplayer game there were many sessions over about a month and so many saves to work from. I generally updated the tree bit by bit after each session - however this made it difficult to plan the layout as I had no idea what was going to happen and which branches would succeed or fail, grow or die out. Still it was good fun. The hardest bit was actually remembering to update the vital details of minor characters in the tree after each session (hence why some minor characters are still down as alive even though they must have died at some point a while ago!). I like to think history simply doesn’t accurately record the deaths of these people….

Considering the amount of labour that this passionate work would require, and judging by the result of it regarding its aesthetics and format, this is simply wonderful, right from the start.

Kudos.
