I think it's safe to say that the Hellcat is overpowered at the moment. It is supposed to have extremely thin armor, yet it can withstand rockets, and it's very useful to fight German tanks regardless of range. I have been using its fast speed and superior turret traverse to quickly move out of cover and take shots at stunned German tanks with great success. In terms of performance, it's value is definately greater than the Wolverine's. I would say that it's worth at least $140 in its current state.

Also, I have to add that 4th AD is absolutely awesome to play! I have longed for an American armored division with Sherman 76s and truck infantry since I started playing the game! And it's a pleasure to use the Hellcat, of course!

+1 for asking for a nerf after release.
It is definitely strong. I would agree a cost nerf is in order (idk about 140 though). People are still 16th LW crazy right now however I think the 116th vs 4th AD show how glaring that is. 4th AD is strong all game where as 2nd DB (phase A m10) slide into irrelevancy after A.

I think the whole 4 AD is OP, i see no point on using the 3 AD anymore since its better in pretty much everything.

4th AD has a stronger A opener due to ace Abrams, Hellcats, and 105 Sherman. But gets weaker over time as it doesn't have access to any calliopes, Jumbos, or elite AT guns like the 3rd Armored does that allows it a better chance at taking out German big cats.

Hellcat is the only thing (tank wise) that 4AD has going for it. Why bring in a 76mm sherman with same ACC/AP and only 5 armor more than m18? Hellcat's speed alone makes it better than any tank the allies can field.

-Only- 5 more armor? And you'd take the Sherman for the aim time buff, and possible turret traverse (don't know off my head which is faster, but usually TD have crappy turret traverse.

5 more armor doesn't mean anything when going against late game armor. Sherman 76 only has 9 front armor. That is nothing. I would take 13AP and 4 armor for speed than the 76mm.

9 armor vs 4 is a huge deal. Does it help you survive against a King Tiger? No... but it gives you some resilience against lower caliber AT guns and Panzer II, III, and IV variants which isn't nothing. And that's leaving aside essentially immunity to autocannons compared to Hellcat. The extra machine guns are also useful, as is the closed top for withstanding bombing and artillery strikes. Plus the 76 Sherman in this deck has a veteran star, and it's a commander. And lastly, the aim time buff that Shermans have is ridiculously good, and another thing going for the 76 Sherman.

All of that is worth something. Now, I'm not really comfortable with the 76 Sherman being 180 points, but it's not as cut and dry as 'They have the same gun, and I say armor doesn't matter so the Hellcat is the obvious choice'.

76mm is good for the CMD radius, but in my experience the 76mm cannot handle a hit on anything above a pnzr 4 or stug.

Besides for the cost, you can almost get 2 hellcats for the price of 1 76mm. With a m20 CMD nearby I think that outweighs that price tag of 180

Also the M4A1s need there guns fixed, there was no differances between the guns/optics/ammo of a M4A1, M4 or M4A3 all had the same gun and optics and in Normandy the same ammo.

How is hellcat OP? If anything pokes it, it explodes....

What? He just said it's notably tougher than it should be.

The m18 still dies very easy. If not micromanaged well it will be easy fodder. I just really don't see how it's OP. There are all unvetted and can only get a maximum 1 star with CMD nearby. The Maurder 3s with 2-3 command stars can tear them up quite easily in phase A.

Because of its cheap cost for what it does. It's one of the best Allied AFVs for micromanagement at the moment. You can reach the battlefield, redeploy and go in and out of cover with impunity thanks to its fast speed.

That was the m18s selling point during ww2. It had amazing speed for hit and run tactics. Of course with amazing speed comes a sacrifice of armor, which we see in game.

The Marder III also has thin armor, less speed, no turret, no cal. 50 to shoot on planes, but cost more. The Hellcat needs a price nerf. 140 should be a decent price.
100 is too cheap for the hellcat, but it's not worth 140 point. 4 AV means it can't take any hit from german at past Phase B.

120 is a better price for it.

but the 4AD's other armor are kind of meh. m4a1 literally can't hit the broad side of a barn and the m4a176w essentially pay extra for command aura.

The Hellcat's fine. Most of the other high AP + low AV vehicles, such as the Marders, Wolverine, Achilles, and Pz4, however, are all overpriced and/or under-available to one extent or the other.

Not only do those vehicles die to cheap stuff normal armored vehicles resist, but they also frequently trade badly against the proper tanks their good guns are designed to be used against because any return fire they eat is extremely likely to penetrate. Also, a lot of them have dramatically less availability than tanks, so even if their lower price does enable you to buy more and trade OK you're then running out of vehicles first. As a cherry on top, the M10A1-chassis vehicles and Pz4 J even get a slow turning turret, which has a strong negative synergy with the fact that their low armor means they're dependent on getting off their shots and either killing their target or getting out before they eat return fire.

I thought the Hellcats were an overpowered gun until I found 3start-Flak88, and since then I have been beating Hellcats so hard, PETA has knocked on my door. The 4 AD is definetly a buff to the Allies. Yes, the division gets weaker the longer the game lasts, but either way, reaching Late Game against the Axis is always a bad sign since they start Panther spamming and KT spamming. With the Allies you need a strong Phase A and Phase B push, and play defensive for the last 15 minutes trying not to lose too much ground.

I really don't see any good use of the 3rd AD anymore, if you were to play a 2 v 2 or a 3 v 3 I would pick the British Guards with the FF that could keep the Panthers in check. Regular Shermans are still too expensive in my opinion making them hardly cost effective.
