Guys, this thread just gave me a bit of hope, ever since we got the news on IR being abandoned, days have been quite gloomy for me so thanks for this! I hope all you genius modders can add some amazing stuff to this game we love so much. I am a mechanical engineer so there's not much I can help with but I am of Bengali (in-game Bangli) origin so if there's any information you need from that part of the world, I'd be happy to help.

Best of luck with this new endeavour!!!

Also Lord Lambert being part of the team will help the mod getting a bit more visibility.

I hope you can find a way to improve the diplomacy as the AI seems to need a bit more tweaking on this field. Imho making the AI more eager to join meaningful alliances (AI to AI nations) and more prone to at attacking when seeing a weak point are the most important. I think this is the point that vanilla I:R is still lacking the most compared to EUIV.

I just wish we modders had more tools to mod the new mechanics eg levy system, army food consumption
The levy mechanics is indeed a problem. The concept of levies was ingenious, no doubt, but the way it currently works in the game with those weird levy compositions and seemingly no way for modders to do anything about is not the most desirable scenario. When - and if - they get back into Imperator I hope they will make this feature more moddable.

Honestly, it's going to be a good time for modding because there's unlikely to be any major changes in the near future, which is going to make mod upkeep much easier.

If you're curious about modding, my advice is to jump in and try to make a flavour mod. Add heritages to nations that don't currently have them, or if you want something more involved write mission trees for nations which you're interested in or add some unique decisions. These things are easy to figure out just by copying and altering existing code, and they solve one of the biggest problems of Imperator which is the lack of flavour and variety.

I have built some mods in the past on other games such as CK2 and HOI4, seeing as Paradox usually has similar structures on their games, I could probably learn how to mod on Imperator relatively easily. If there is enough interest, I would be happy to create a mod based on the earlier Diadochi wars, or something that would give more flavor to the current start date. I'll make a thread about it now.

If your interested, we at the Imperator Invictus mod team, which is intended to be a community flavor and gameplay expansion mod in the vein of HIP for CK2 and HPM for Vic2 are always looking for new members.

Marrying your cousin a few too many times does that. That's why republics in early game are king,
