The Italian Shield & HoI2 sprites

I have two questions:

Is the Italian Shield/Flag which comes with the game the actual one used during the war, or is it an alternate Shield/Flag similar to how the Germans have an alternate Shield/Flag? I have seen an Italian flag around the 'net that features an eagle clutching something; was that in any way historical? (MODERATORS: I am not asking for a link.)

Also, is it possible or advisable to import the HoI sprites into HoI2? (I would have asked on the HoI2 forum, but it doesn't appear to have a graphical editing forum.)

the one withe the eagle was the italian sotiallist republic and the were not the same contrey
