Not leaving it several months until replying to comments, that definitely seems a good plan lets do that.
Victory in the Sausage War we must celebrate heart’ly
(Though my favoured are those made by Clan McCartney)
That does explain an awful lot so I shouldn't really be surprised. Though I am still slightly disappointed.
Major Victory: Sausage

Minor Victory: Cumberland
This is completely correct.
Hooray! We won the sausage war. Let's hope no one ever uses English or British sausages as an excuse again...
Why would they need to now the superior sausage is under Royal control.

And some excellent poetry to conclude on. What more could an author ask for?

Awards and accolades. I am not saying that an author should ask for such, as poetry is already the finest of honors, but you did ask and I did answer.

I had a quick peek at the Q2 ACAs which, obviously, everyone should rush off to and vote in. This is not a work that will be troubling the award committee so I try not to think about such things.

Gasp! Scotland is a land full of sin and sinners! We must invade imminently and set them right!

Or...send them down. Whichever seems easier.

Perhaps a slight bit of meta commentary here. I do wonder what the Bishop's name would be were the tapestry to continue for some greater length given the apparent tendency of the weavers to make small adjustments to names and indeed the English language as a tapestry goes on, probably to preserve limited thread supplies.

Who can we declare war on to recover additional thread supplies?

Given that the monastery is getting the raw resources from peasants working on their lands...we probably can't do much more to boost productivity or quality. Except may outsource various sections so multiple places are working on their own bits.

But that will get rather disjointed rather quickly.

No, much better to just make sure the land stays with the monks, destroy any peasent uprisings in the area quickly, and maybe parcel out more land in that area if it comes up. I'd say grant a tax lieu too but most monasteries didn't pay tax anyway (outside of the mutual beneficial variety, mainting roads and bridges through their lands etx).

But none of that matters anyway because we need to go fight the Scots (again) for reasons (again) and loot/steal some land (again)!

But in a Christian way, of course.

Unspecified? How much clearer could an excommunication be? Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to deus vult!

Ah yes, excuse me. I meant “excommunicatedly awful”. Which of course leaves nothing to the imagination

The Paradox of being devout enough to react to excommunication, but cyclical enough to wonder what it is the sinner did....this is what gets you excommunicated.

Now you may be saying, Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged.

But it's actually nolite iudicare ut non iudicemini, only priests can interpret the Holy Word, and YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!

It is blackmail and extortion if you and I do it? But if the Church or Realm does, it is most honorable.
Well it's extortion is you are threatening something illegal (like breaking their legs), blackmail if it's legal (publishing some information or sending a letter). Is the Pope allowed to just excommunicate people on a whim or this an illegal threat? Sounds like an ecumenical matter to me (or cause for a schism)

I'm told this is always good advice for a CK player.

The Bishop's punishment includes having his name arbitrarily changed at random intervals with no-one allowed to acknowledge the change on pain of damnation, his crimes were that bad.

Given that the monastery is getting the raw resources from peasants working on their lands...we probably can't do much more to boost productivity or quality. Except may outsource various sections so multiple places are working on their own bits.

No-one wants a disjointed tapestry.

Given the monks were not involved in making it the best solution is to dissolve the monasteries, due to lack of tax payment, and use the funds to hire more of the professional embroiders who are doing the actual work. There can be no downside to this plan.

But none of that matters anyway because we need to go fight the Scots (again) for reasons (again) and loot/steal some land (again)!

This is Christian way as in the way of King Christian II of Denmark correct? King "Massacre of Stockholm" Christian II?

It cannot last.

The Pope is just trying to protect innocent Christian ears from having to hear the full extent of the heresy happening in Scotland. You will just have to take his word for it that it is utterly deserved.

Exactly, it is warning "Don't attempt to judge the Pope's actions, or the Pope will judge you as well (and find you guilty of heresy then excommunicate you."

Actually it depends. If a ruler goes into heresy, time for celebration because you can Holy war his kingdom or duchy away in one war. Excommunication wars really are just an excuse to best the shit out of an annoying neighbour you don't really want to expand into but wouldn't mind taking down a peg or two.

We prefer Saint Christian the Peaceful but yes, you speak of the same earthly man.

Not many cannibals so far in ck3 that I have seen. Much more likely to see normal deviance though compared to ck2: both sexually and religiously.

The character creation and stats being what they are however, if a crazy or zany dlc did come out, the game would quickly become infested with all kinds of crazy, yes.

It must be something like that, after all the Papacy wouldn't have excommunicated Scotland for no reason.

And on that cheerful note I see the weavers are still going with short but often, so have the next section of work ready for display.
