AAARGH...

My AAR has been destroyed by fatal CTD's in 1178...

I crash on the same date every time.

I will try to fix this.

DAMMIT, I have as my successor probably the most talented Emperor Rome would ever have!!!

Well, you know what you have to do now - take that great Roman Emperor and thrust him back in time as the Count of Orkney - try and reclaim the Empire from there :) Go Orkney!

Holy sh*t, that's bad luck! Hope you can fix it... :(

I'm going to try to go back to an older save game file and see if the game still crashes every few months... It will mean scrapping almost 10 years worth of notes taken, a spectacular successor (midas touched) (and his equally splendid wife, technically his aunt, the last daughter of Ambrosia and Constantine XI), and gains from two major wars...

But on the bright side, our Justinian III will lose the "severely injured" trait he picked up in those wars!

BTW, BUILD UNIVERSITIES... They cost a lot of money, but you immediately see a major improvement in your offspring's education!

Well, my previous optimism was short-lived...

In 1179 I start getting CTD's again, so we're going to consider this AAR finished..

I will start another tonight. It won't be on nearly as large a scale as this one as far as conquests...

That's a bugger. Just happened to me as well.

Don't knock Orkney though. Great fun ;)

:( Sad that this AAR are finished...:( Sure the help forum can't give you any solution?:(

Good luck with your new AAR at least then.:)

Maybe when 1.04 comes out I can try to resurrect...

I do intend to tackle another Byzantium AAR though, one in the 1187 or 1334 scenarios.

Ooh, I wouldnae mind seeing a 1334 scenario - up against the might of the Turk, can you survive to import into EU2?

1337 could be interesting.:) I tried Byzantium in that scenario once. It's was exteremely easy untill the Il-Khanate came to visit me...:D I did good against them for a while, but the plague(that was spread in the whole mediterrainian at the time) combined with their X times larger manpower(they had conquered all of of the Middle East except me, inclu8ded Egypt and a couple of it's neightbours... ) gave me some...problems.:p

Romain Emperors of this AAR:

Alexios I "The Great" Komnenus (1075-1120) (45)
Yea, Alexios was one hell of a Byzantine emperor. Actually, all you need to do is to hit "die" (F12 + die) at the beginning of the game until Alexios becomes the emperor and that should take care of the Seljuks.
