Thats a feature of the 2.3x beta patches, which the Epigoni mod is compatible with.

Ahh, that would explain it. I can't seem to make the beta patch work on my computer, so now I'm awaiting the official patch.

By 517, the Senate, which had always been dominated by the Religious Faction, (as much as 65% of the seats at times) had gradually come under the influence of the Mercantile Faction. The League's trading interests had skyrocketed following the conquest of Greece.

Polydoros Zosimid was elected Archon, and with the backing of the now powerful Merchants, the League's consitution was modified into an Oligarchic Republic.

Also that year, Pontus started to pay tribute to the Seleucids in exchange forming an alliance of defense against the Nesiotic League.

And, last but not least that year, the Ptolemaic Kingdom invaded Nabatea to reclaim the Sinai. The League had warned the Egyptians not to try it, so soon after, the League declared war on the Pharoah once again.

Lysimachus quickly destroyed what little navy the Egyptians had rebuilt since the last war and blockaded Alexandria, while Telesphoros besieged the Egyptian citadels in Asia, which fell in a few months.

By the late summer of 518 Telesphoros marched through Seleucid territory and commenced an invasion of Judea. He was defeated and driven back to the Empire's borders. Polydoros removed him from command and replaced him with the great war hero Lysimachus, as well as sending a second army under the command of the Macedonian noble Kleandros Antigonid.

There they crushed the Egyptian army that defeated Telesphoros.

Kleandros besieged Jerusalem while Lysimachus chased after the remnants of the Egyptian army. In the Sinai, they were unexpectedly reinforced by a second army. Without Kleandros' troops, Lysimachus faced an Egyptian horde of over 55,000 men. Once again, against all odds, he not only emerged victorious but annihilated the superior enemy.

Lysimachus chased down and destroyed the Egyptian armies at Alexandria and Memphis while Kleandros captured the cities left defenseless in his wake. Together they marched up the Nile and then turned west to face the Marmaridae and the last Egyptian forces in Cyrenaica. Their armies, spent and drained after 2 years of fighting in Egpyt, encountered much stiffer resistance in the west and it took 2 more years to finally force the Ptolemies to concede defeat.

The Ptolemies' Asian provinces were ceded to the League. The League also demanded the liberation of the Greeks in Cyrenaica, and a new republic was added to the nations of the world...

It sure is nice to see Egypt get smacked around. :D
Great update, the Aegean is quickly becoming your lake. :)

Following the liberation of Cyrenaica, the Nesiotic League was finally seen by the Seleucids as a viable threat to their status in Asia Minor. They quickly annexed Atropatene and large swaths of Armenia, and vassalizing the latter's king in exchange for keeping what little lands they had left.

Pontus had always feared the League's might since the loss of Bithynia, and they too sought to increase their power by annexing Cappadocia, with the Seleucid Empire's blessing.

In 523, Sthenelaus Omirid was elected Archon, but his term in office was consumed by the civil strife his election prompted. His fierce rival Teleclus Xenonid, who had expected to be elected, revolted after the election results were announced. Thus began the First Nesiotic Civil War. If it could be called a war. Teleclus drew the sympathy of many, but not of any soldiers. His small militia inevitably fell before the might the League's loyal armies. After a year and half of fighting, the dissidents were finally annihilated and two months later, the legendary general Lysimachus died at the age of only 40... reminiscent of Alexander, it would seem the greatest of Greek generals die young...

While the Omirid family had always been a political powerhouse since the beginning, (Ikesios Omirid the Elder was the League's first general and second Archon), with the victory in the civil war, and the death of the popular Lysimachus and other potential political opponents, Sthenelaus began what is known as the "Omirid Dynasty" in Nesiotic League history.

In 525 Phocas Omirid was elected and his rule was remembered mostly for building many new irrigations and forums in the northern colonies and the liberated Greek lands of Asia. But also during his term, the Romans approached their fellow Republic with an offer of alliance in case of Seleucid, Carthaginian or Dardanian aggression. Omirid agreed, forming the most powerful alliance the world had yet known, and that no power in the Mediterranean would dare challenge.

In 527 another Omirid, Damasias, was elected Archon, and during his term rebels in the Bosporan Kingdom overthrew their government and refused to continue paying the League's tribute. Damasias quickly organized an invasion of the small Greek kingdom.

The ragtag revolutionaries killed more soldiers than they lost, but they simply could not hold back the superior numbers of the League. Menon Omirid captured Panticapaeum after a year-long siege while Ikesios Omirid (the Younger) marched from Rhoxolani lands straight to the capital at Phanagoria, defeating the Bosporan army along the way. After one year of fighting, the Bosporans ceded Panticapaeum and Maoetae, but refused to pay tribute.

A year later, Olbia, facing mounting debt due to their tributary payments, could no longer afford them and they were quickly annexed.

In 531, Menon Omirid was elected Archon, at a time when tensions were once again beginning to mount with Pontus and the Seleucid Empire.... would the alliance with Rome hold?

Dear Readers,

While this game is still interesting and I'm bound to get in another major war soon, I've been sucked into playing a lot of EU3 and Mass Effect 2 lately. If you would like to see this AAR continue, please leave a comment, and what you would like to see (liberate Seleucid Asia Minor; Black Sea hegemony; go after Epirus and Rome, etc). I will gladly continue this AAR if there is interest, but otherwise I would be inclined to wrap it up and spend more time with my other games.

P.S. Hardradi I'm guessing you have to be Illyrian culture to form Illyria? If so, I believe Dardania didn't form Illyria because when it was an OPM, barbs conquered it and changed culture to Getae.

I would definitely like to see this continue! :) I would say that a good short-term goal would be the control of the Black Sea. After that, it's always fun to watch the Seleucids get humiliated. :D
