Sadly, sadly, sadly I have to end this AAR.... :(

My computer died last week and I am not able to recover my data so I lost:

- This aar's template and the pictures I made
- My screenshots
- The notes I made and the savegames.....
- The entire damned plot!

So, as you understand I am a bit sad and pissed but allas...........

Well, I'll be damned. Finally found some time to read this excellent story and then this happens...

Anyway, it was a great read, looking forward to the next story... :)

That is a damned shame. Too right I am a little pissed at those idiotic electrons that turned right instead of left. I imagine you must have been hopping mad!

Hope you get a new one sorted out without too much hassle.

I just read through this and it is a great AAR. Too bad about your computer :( but it was good while it lasted. Looking forward to a new AAR from you.

Well, you can say so

I firdt thought about playing the game agin and taking new screenshots. Then putting toghter my template again and search for all those flavour-pics but.....

I have lost the plot I had written out as well. I can still remember some of the mainpoints (see below) but have lost most of it as I have written it three months ago.

What would have happened if this had been continued:

- King Godafres would have been forced to retreat into Palastine proper after a raid on his supplyline and the fall of the northern counties to the Seljuks of Rum.

- During winter the entire situation would have stabelized and Rainers would talk Godafres over to attack an independent Sheikdom with only four provinces in Sinai to gain 'some border'. Off course the inevitable would happen when the Ayyubids would come charging down throught he desert at this offense. Jean (Rainers father) had tried to talk the Ayyubids into peace but he wasn't able with all those warmongers around him.

- Beleagerd from all sides the KoJ was in a really bad place and Rainers kept gathering riches from the countryside and shipping it to Reggio where his compatriot (whom hadn't been met yet), his nephew was preparing for it.

- Off course the KoJ would fall (but it held out relative long in the game considering the ammount of enemies) and before making his escape (he had payed the muslim generals whom's name I have forgotten) out of the city he killed his father in the final hours of the siege just before he was able to bethray his son.

- Rainers, now a filthy rich man but not very much able to show it, completed the final part of his plan when he killed his second cousin, the (now) duke of Reggio and Calabria. Off course the last dirty ploy of Rainers is now played when he betrays his nephew and compatriot blaming the murder on him.

- As the new duke of Clabria and count of Reggio Rainers is able to show his wealth. Next to that he executes his nephew.....but with that man's death he has finaly overplayed his hand. A letter telling about the entire plot scheduled to be delivered after his nephews untimely death is delivered to king Godafres (of Napels (and in title the KoJ). Rainers wife had found out about the existence of this letter but didn't stop it from reaching the king, in so doing sealing the faith of her husband and avenging a terrible marriage. (she had very positive traits while Rainers where very negative and brutish)

-In a grand finale Rainers is executed and beheaded by orders of the King Godafres whom in the end marries Rainers now widowed wife to make a lot of happy and bright children......

O, and yes....I had this all played out and screenied...

Too bad I wasn't able to continue.....If you wish to read more of my hand I would like to refer you to the titles in my threat. Next to that I am planning to write a CSA AAR (being a mega-civil war buff it had to be done sometimes) and more....:D

Thanks for reading and thanks for the great comments and support

That would have been a great story.

Damn the computer crash, it robbed us of a very good story.

I am already working on the plot of my next AAR set in the ACW (1861-1865). It will be played with Hoi2DD and somewhat similair style to this AAR. Which means more intrigue and treachery :D

Rainers had children, I see, who still dreamt of their own territory somewhere. Emigration to Loiusiana would follow later and the family became American on its sale to America. The downfall of the Confederacy is directly attributable to them. I shall follow your AAR.
