The new patch 1.06 crashes my game when I try and load a save...

I've been playing 1.05 perfectly for ages, Steam updated to the 1.06 patch yesterday, my old saves were useless so I started a new campaign for Scotland, played for an hour or so, saved the game, and now when I try and load it today my game crashes and says CK2 has stopped working.

What the hell did the patch do? Now I can't even load a game from a save.

Could this be that I'm using three mods? They're only basic ones, like the better portraits mod. The thing is they worked just fine when I played yesterday with them, but now I can't load the save?
 
Try deleting the mods they might not be comptible
error logs should be in documents/paradox interactive/crusader kings 2
Checksum is the 4 letters you see in the bottom corner when you are at the menu screen

The Checksum is YYEV.

It looks like you are using a mod that also has edited characters and now with the new patch these characters are duplicates.



Code: 
[id.cpp:83]: Failed to create id 20738 45. Already exists in game.

Since this means that there are now 2 characters with ID 20738 in your game.

Ah, so basically it's the mods that are causing the problems, that's a real shame, they're good mods!
