Adding players while the game is in progress. I'm very tired of getting 3/4 of the way through a level as I slowly lose players until it's just me and the boss. Even if I have to pause the game and wait, I would like there to be a way to add players to a game that is currently in progress.

Well now with the latest update you can return to the lobby and carry on from the last acquired checkpoint... which isn't nearly as bad as starting the whole level again :/
I do agree it would be nice, I cite Alien Swarm as having some great features that would go great in Magicka. (Namely the enemy randomisation, and player joining mid game).
Even if they can't enter straightaway, and havrto wait until the end of the chapter, it would be better than how it is now!
If I could just go on and play, and then if someone joins, great, if not then have fun doing it solo, it would be much more fun than it is now where I join, after a while the guys leave, then haveto quit and go back, get more people, join again, repeat.

I am very happy to hear that sanity. That's a major step between restarting the level and just getting some extra help when you finally hit the last boss.
