Did one of the nomad hordes converted to catholicism? I've seen this happen with other religions as well, and it's seems to be caused by nomads converting.
Don't think so two are Germanic, the biggest is sunni and the last one is a zoro heresy.
I think they need to be held by a person of that religion too in order to count, in my current game zoroastrism is considered a heresy despite being the only one of it's group with provinces (1 province under a muslim faction).
What will happen with my vassal doctor knights? They took jerusalem in a crusade but were same culture so I could vassalise them, but now I'm a smelly heretic and they serve catholics.

The most interesting thing is that it all seemingly went to the Ummayyads.
It can happen when the ruler is forced to abdicate via faction.
But then it normally says "installed by faction demand"

I've once had a Visigoth Caliph and seen Visigoth culture spread into North Africa, Persia and even Afghanistan. After his empire collapsed, other Visigoths took it over. It was hilarious. I even posted it in this thread before.
