Only strange thing about that situation is that Toulouse hasn't jumped on the bandwagon.

Its strange cause France had been stable up untill then. If you look behind the attacker/defender box, France ownes Galicia, Portugal, and most of south Spain. They're pretty much splitting it with Genoa and whatever Spanish kingdoms get trapped between them.

Dat Genoa

Its been a game full of surprises. Norway won the war for England and held it for quite a while untill one of their invited nobles usurped the title. Leon made some early gains against the Sunni and for a bit I thought Id finally see a game where the Christian kingdoms would win in Spain, but no. So since then France and Genoa have been carving chunks from Spain.

Best way to help Spain is to try to murder one or two of the kings right away. It won't guarantee anything, but it does give the now united kingdom a fighting chance. The king of Galacia in particular has courtier that hates his guts, at least in my recent games.

What happened here? Apparently the title of King of England was held by Harold, William and then Harald*.

*Some years later Denmark decided to press its claim in England. All hell broke loose. All provinces ended up English cultured and peasant rebels redistributed the land. Also, the duchy of Normandy is owned directly by Phillip Capet, King of France.

I had something similar, where I had the added bonus of a couple of depositions. At one point I had the wife of Edward the Confessor, ex-King Harold and ex-King Edgar in court the Godwin Count of Cornwall, The Duke of Bedford being ex-king Robert of England (William having died) and Norway reduced to having control of East Anglia.

The Kicker?

The ruler of a truncated (less basically everything north of Oxford) England was the King-Bishop of Carlisle ruling from an independent barony in Scottish ruled Cumberland:laugh:

Historically there were some cases when women were named a "King" instead of a queen.
For example this one:

This one's a queen though. The character card's open ;)

Oh, also, I think I picked a good game to be on an island:

You really need to start helping to destabilize that realm any way you can. Kill a leader or two if the one down the line is an inbecile or something. If you think the HRE would 100% be able to stop it, you would be mistaken. If you think being isolated somehwere will make you secure, it won't.

"Thorold! Hey, I know you executed my wife, brother and three of my children, thus leaving me formerly heirless and in misery after you took three of my provinces, but after all, you're a pretty decent guy, so I guess it makes up for it, eh?"

We have common interests. My misdeeds are merely nothing compared to how often we play together.
And you're gregarious. Don't forget that. :)

In my last game it was first time i saw more empires than HRE and ERE.
First it was France somehow got hands on England and formed Francia. Then i for some reason assassinated Franch Emperor. And somehow England became again independent with Godwins. Then later Persia was formed. And now in 1180 or so while i was focused on my lands Russia managed to form an Empire o_O Wonder if they will be able to stand against Golden Horde.

Why haven't they formed the Kingdom of Ireland yet?

And secondly, how do you play as no character? It'd be interesting to watch a hands-off game.

Oh God, that's like an exact screenshot of one of my games as the Abbadids...

You need to start preparing for the oncoming assault.

In a generation or two they are going to fall apart.. And then HRE going to take a lot of little bits of Abbadids.

Problem solved!

The man who, in his over 70 years, not only united - through prudent marriages - Venice and Wales under a single crown, is conquering large parts of Ireland as we speak, took (if only for a short while) Jerusalem from the heathens, and let's not forget has ungodly stats?
"the Good"... as in: "Yah, he's good people."

His contemporaries have certainly mastered the art of understatement.

At the same time, a short, incompetent almost underage girl with no notable characteristics whatsoever is called "the Great".
