I started the game as Napoli to check out the new dlc. After a while Poland wins the first crusade of Jeruzalem, later they lose it again to the Fatamids and I can't figure out why but they converted to the Shia faith in the process. Now 2 more crusades of Jeruzalem are called, the first won and lost again by France, the second is won by the pope himself but the lands are also lost later on. Now you would think that the Fatamids would take there land back, they did the first 2 times but look now. Poland not only won a crusade before they converted to the Shia faith, they also won the kingdom of Jeruzalem in a jihad and are holding the lands ever since.
well, I tried to investigate who exactly inherited what to give France 2 duchies so far away... But I didn't found the link, and well, besides that it's still looking strange for me.
I don't think it's that odd. That area is Orthodox so a marriage could occur. In my current game one of my Hungarian vassals is Duke of Yaroslavl.
Erendir ... best guess would be through the mother of the Child King in 1066 ... she's a rudikovich and got claims on many different things in russia

But watch what happens to the HRE when we switch to Direct Vassals mode...
I have no idea how Bohemia got that big (I think it might be from holy warring inside the Empire when I mended the schism) or how it lost the HRE crown, or why it ain't independent.
Wow, I don't remember seeing so few independent realms on teh map. Usually Eastern Europe is always messy in my games.
Looks like the Kaiser decided to spend his late life (and a looming civil war) in some warm country:
this moment of WTF just happened in my game as Brittany, I joined the crusade to gain some piety so I could form the kingdom of Brittany (I had already taken the Duchy of Munster as my secondary and revoked all my Breton counts).
no Fatimid doomstacks showed up except a 3k stack vs 19k crusaders (first thing they did was reduce my 1600 men to 250 men, who hung around the papal lines afterwards for the battle-piety)
I got captured in the only other battle of the war and 2 days later warscore hits 100%

indeed, took sending my chancellor to suck up to him, and half my treasury to get him to accept a ransom (despite him being greedy).
My chancellor did awesome work though, he was so good at sucking up to the Caliph that we had 100 relations when my king died way to early.
My six year old daughter then lost Galilee almost instantly.

I was doing a handsoff game to see if some changes to CB and religions did anything to stop the tragedy in the Levante (Spoiler alert: Not really) and witnessed some amusing developments that may or may not have already been seen in this thread.
First of a pretty standard situation that still amused me, because having just read the newest development diary for EU4, I still had "And did those feet in ancient times..." as a constant background noise in my head.
William succeeded with his invasion and proceeded to lead a successful crusade on Jerusalem, which he lost again pretty fast. That might have been the chance for the Godwins to retake England, resulting in this heavenly enclave around London.
Next up a funny looking Armenian Sunni Caliph, not much explanation needed.
The balkanization you see is actually the first such event to occur in the area since the start of the game in 1066. After the rebels lost it returned to looking like this
The Seljuks and the Fatimids lost no land but Armenia and Tigris (when the Sunni Caliph revolted). All that happened were some invasions that changed the ruling dynasties for some years and finally seperated the Shia Caliphate from the Sultanate of Egypt in 1160 or so. The Fatimid Caliph resides in Anatolia now, while the Fatimid Sultan remains at Cairo. If you are wondering why Abyssinia is still around: Upon the recommendation in another thread, I disabled holy wars against Orthodox and Miaphysite for Shiites. Didn't save ERE though, and neither did raising the Piety requirement for an invasion to 750.
Finally my favourite
Republican HRE in 1180, ruled by the incapable Doges of Pisa in the 3rd generation now. Salian Aquitaine and Franconia don't quite approve of the winds of change though.

Nope. The Fatimids did practically nothing until they had enough piety for the invasion of Greece, which they quickly followed with the invasion of Anatolia. It probably didn't help that al-Mustansir lived to the age of 91 and was beloved by all his vassals. That guy seriously needs some nerfing with his perfect health, Caliphate and being Sayyid. And even 100% decadence failed to kill of the dynasty for the next 1 1/2 generations.
I also removed the Imperial Reconquest CB for ERE, so they can only use it after restoring the Roman Empire. That might have weakened them too.

Yeah, I was going to report it, but saw a locked thread about it, so I figured I'd stick it in here for posterity. I like how William is the mother though, I'd have figured him to be the dominant one in the relationship.
