Nice photoshop.
What on Earth.
It's a reference to Caligula wanting to appoint his favourite horse as either a Senator or Consul. Interestingly, some historians now seem to think that instead of being a sign of insanity, it was meant to be a shot at the Senate in the vein of, "Your job is so simple, even a horse could do it!"
So now Caligula is only insane because of all the other stuff...
I'd say Caligula was a cynical sociopath or or just plain ultra-cynical, not an insane lunatic
Ah, thanks. He had usurped his way into becoming the Despot, so Hungary becoming a republic (in all but name, apparently) didn't really confuse me, but his wife being a king did. Maybe they'll fix that in 1.10, along with the title's name staying the same?1. Patricians that aren't the Doge get the title of their highest Feudal/Merchant Title, based on what type the capital holding is. So, his capital must be a barony. His house, for some reason, is still considered part of the Venetian republic, but he's of equal title to the Serene Doge, so another republic was created with him still being eligible for Venice. Republican spouse titles can be funky, so that's why his wife is King.
That wasn't an attempted docking, I had intended to park my ships in that inlet past Stockholm, but then I discovered that if I ordered my ships to go there, the game would have the graphics and arrow showing them out at sea, but treat them as if they were in the inlet, allowing them to march onto Vastmanland. That must be the smallest seazone in the game, that is connected to the ocean (and can therefore be traveled to). Then I got a bit silly. Here's the screenshot I took when I first noticed the anomaly.Wat ? That Byzzies are fighting in Scandinavia or your cunning plan to confuse the enemy, by a quick docking your ships in Stockholm, before going to Novgorod ?
Hope your troops won't forget to board the ships.
Beautiful knot though.

Emperor Hildebert of the Il-Khanate!
Strangest thing I have seen the AI pull off.
Basically the Duke of Flanders declared war on France for the Kingdom of France at the same time as the South was fighting for independence, and also manged to get most of the northern dukes to support him in the war. The war was over in just a month, and then because the Duke of Flanders capital is de jure in the HRE he just joined the HRE as the new King of France.
