Two inbred children who are related to each other... All four of the boy's grandparents are of the same dynasty, as are both the girl's grandmothers.
Oh, ok. How can you tell? All the grandparents look unique to me, and I can't see any further than that.

I don't get it?

The kids are close relatives, and they're both already inbred anyway. Basically it looks like the AI is trying to make a Russian Carlos III.

EDIT: ninja'd.

I totally missed that they are both Inbred... Now things are making more sense to me, thanks. :D

I don't think I've ever seen this before.

Can anyone explain this?

He founded a Child of Destiny bloodline only in his 50s, and only *after* conquering the Abbasid empire as a claimant (not to mention dying two months later, and having stats that--while really good--aren't exactly Destiny Good). That's not how the Child of Destiny event should work, is it??

Probably an event war.
It is, and even he won the war. His old lady is not able to urusp the title. Gender blocks.
What map mod is this? Big fan of it.
Not sure what part of map mod you say, but if you're speaking of map graphic mod, it's Flat and Opaque Map Mod.
As the map itself, it's my own Performance map. Both of them are available on Steam Workshop

Anyhow, fun/odd sequence of events here. I get the "jihad unlocked" big message, it says Mecca has fallen! I think hang on, who could have done that?

It's...the Nubian tributary kingdom under the Caliph. So he wants to call a jihad to reclaim Mecca, but can't, because it was taken by his tributary.

Oh well, let's just go beat up some Normans to take out our frustration instead I guess!

It wouldn't surprise me if the Caliph himself even helped the Nubians in their war for Mecca.

I don't know if that happened (probably), but the Caliph certainly helped them when the other Caliph declared his own jihad on them.

Or...tried to help.

Seljuks gonna Seljuk. Ah well, so much for that brief moment when Miaphysite MA hit 89.

...but they still have Mecca.

Footnote to this saga: I was poking around the Ethiopian Miaphysite sphere while all this went down and--I've never seen such high intrigue in a regular AI character!

Not "strange" per se, just amusing. Imagine the look on the Muslims' faces when this Christian uber-warrior shows up to their party and trounces them all. To add insult to injury, this is a party celebrating martial virtue, and the winner is clearly very decadent (drunkard + serial adulterer). And he won despite being nearly bedridden with joint pain.
