I don't care one way or the other. I do find the game as it stands pretty static, though. My only enemy with whom I can truly hope to contest anything is Dago, and only if he's engaged with someone else, at which point he and others cry foul for "ganging" and that is "not a good thing."

More fluid diplomacy might help, but I do think that the issue may be a result of the restriction on colonization: without areas outside Europe to contest, new tensions cannot easily arise.

All,

Actually, I'm going to call a halt to this vote now. The sheer indifference speaks louder than any ayes or nays.

To be honest with you, I think the problem in this game has been precisely the fixation on restarting it. And it's sucked away virtually all of my enthusiasm. But, as Arco points out, it doesn't much matter how we got to this point. A game is no good if nobody really cares about it. So here we are.

I'm wary of starting anew, but I've managed to drum up a couple more old hands (Stonewall, Eli) who'd be terrific to play with again. With that in mind, I'm willing to GM another go-round, but I'm absolutely against a random. For one to work, the players have to display a certain level of imagination that didn't exist here. I won't waste any more time with a formula that's never panned out. So if that's the will of the majority, somebody else can GM.

I'm leaning heavily toward Peter's 1492, but I'd also be willing to run with a 1419, 1453, 1520 or even AOI 1337-1913. Whatever we do, I insist on one rule-land 5 locked-but I'm otherwise willing to leave it all up to the majority. That goes for the Clout rules and such too.

So this one is officially DOA. I'll have a new thread up in a bit.

Whew :D

.... sorry to suck away your enthusiasm but this game went bad sessions ago. Games sometimes don't work, especially 7 player static games with bad starts.

Trust me, the new one will be much better ;)

When you get a team together you have to have at least 8 to 11 dedicated players for Eu2. I'm shortly running out of time before The Holidays and hopefully some busy times arrive. I would still love to game with some of my buds here... ;) This 2nd I will being seeing a Gothic Band hopefully.. So I'll miss out on Wens game... if there is one...

You need to pick at least 8 guys... 8 dedicated guys, sorry and I know who to and who not to pick ;)

This game is off tonight, correct? Kinda dissapointing, though admittedly not too surprising... :(

DSY,

As stated in the first post, we're starting next Wednesday.
