Thanks all for your encouraging responses! I'm really taken aback by the positive response I'm getting, you guys have no idea how fired up it gets me to write more. I've been a little busy the past couple of days, but I'm going to try to squeeze in at least two or three more updates before school starts. After that, I'm going to have to ask for your patience. I'm not sure how my time management will look, and it may be possible I'll only have time to write on weekends. Still, if this is the case, I'll do my best to get three or four updates in a week. I'm sitting here looking at my schedule, trying to figure out the study time I'll have to put in. I've got five hours per week of Latin this term....ugh.

January --, 1068

A year has passed uneventfully, and I wonder to myself where the time has gone. Peace and harmony reign throughout Poland, the people are happy, and the realm flourishes.

My beautiful wife is three months pregnant, and she is becoming quite round. Her pregnancy seems to be characterised by a voracious appetite, but she is healthy and happy, which is all I can ask for. Such a fine, energetic woman, my Eupraxia. Inspite of the obvious discomforts of child bearing, she continues to work as hard as ever as Queen and Steward to our Kingdom. She displeases me in nothing, and indeed does excel in all that she sets her efforts to. What more could a man ask for?

We have recently completed a foresting project in Krakow, and thanks to the industrious nature of my dear wife, my vassals, and perhaps most importantly, my people, we have this past year filled up the royal coffers with pure gold coin. This money shall be invested in new projects which will strengthen our great Kingdom even further.

These are indeed times of preparation, we must make our realm rich and our armies well equiped and trained if we are to perform the Lord's will. May He bless us, and allow the Kingdom of Poland to flourish in this new year as it did in the old.

----, 1069

A long while has passed since I've made any sort of entry in this volume, indeed, I had nearly forgotten it all together. I must promise myself to make at least one entry a year, be it long or short, so that I may fullfill the Lord's will and keep a thorough record of my doings.

In the early winter months of 1068 I did pay a second visit to my young friend, Count Rurik of Peremyshl. Though my visit was pleasant, and I was pleased to see the young Count again, it was uneventful. I did stay a full week at his court, and then returned to my realm to further tend to matters of state.

Returning to Krakow, I was presented with the unhappy news that some guilde of thieves had begun to run rampant and unchecked throughout the countryside. Luckily, we currently have the financial clout to expand our judicial and policing systems. The rabble will soon hang in Grandsquare, and it pleases my heart to think of it.

On June the twenty-fifth Eupraxia did give birth, and with the same provided me with an heir. Both mother and son were happy and healthy, and all throughout Poland there was much rejoicing. We baptised our beloved son, and did name him Krzeslaw, and many people of note did come to Krakow to congratulate us, and see their future King. It is a great weight off my shoulders, as my line has been secured. Though I do love my son very much, I fear I am not much of a father, though Eupraxia vehemently rebuffs such notions. I should hope that she is right, and that I may fullfill my role as father with as much vigor and dedication as I do that of King. May the light of the Lord guide me in this new experience.

Eupraxia is pregnant again, God bless her, and the Kingdom continues to flourish. All is well, and peace and harmony reign, indeed not only in Poland but throughout Christiandom.

We have only to be thankful for this state of affairs, though I do admit that I am filled up with a great foreboding. Somewhere deep in my soul lies the knowledge that this blessed harmony cannot last long, that the imperfections of humanity will soon rob us of our bounty. I often see horrible things in my sleep, pain and suffering, and the good Lord's wrath. I have spent many hours praying for the sinners who will bring this purgatory upon us, praying that my horrid visions not be allowed to come to pass...

Well, here I am after a long day of school, loading up my saved game to get some info for my next update, and looky, looky, the FRIGGIN FILE IS CORRUPTED!

I'm sorry all, I was quite enjoying this, and was looking forward to continuing my AAR. Unfortunatly, is seems that is now impossible.... :(

On a brighter note, if I have the time, I'll start a new one this weekend. Man, this sucks.... :eek:o

Oh no, just looked in and saw your note. I hope you´ll start a new one! This time keep some backup copies of your savegames though :) !
