The Paradox Sickness is a condition in which can a occur in a person that plays a paradox game for long periods of time without taking breaks. Typical symptoms include nausea, fatigue and mental confusion. It can best be treated by getting off the game and going outside for a while. Risk factors include being addicted to the game, old age, sleep deprivation and being hungry and thirsty.

Example scenario: A HOI 4 player has player for hours. It is 3 AM and he is pushing his frontline deep into the Soviet union, about to reach the Ural mountains. He knows he has to stop playing. He needs food, exercise and sleep for he has work tomorrow. But he cant stop noow when the soviets are at 98% capitulation rate. "Just one more province, then i will go sleep" he though to himself for the past hour. After a while he finally stops playing and the Paradox sickness kicks in with full force as he is no longer giving in to his addiction of micromanaging one division at a time. He is back to reality, but it still feels like the game has a grip on him. "Never again" he tell himself. "I cant live my life like this". Then he falls asleep. One week later he will be in the exact same spot because he is addicted and he loves the game.
