I am using HOI2 Doomsday trying to make it 1.2

I use XP Home

I have a eMachines t6410 with a 2.4 processor

1 GIg of ram, 896 free

80Gb free on my HDD

I have an ATI 200 with 256 RAM

I have watever sound card came with the machine, its never been a problem

Deirectx 9
I think that’s everything you asked for in the sticky

I had doomsday, but when i installed it it crashed at 45 percent. So i ran the demo, then installed and it worked. Then i tried to patch it, and it put the files into my system folder. So i cleaned up my system folder, then did the uninstaler, to try to get a clean instal. It went from 0-100 percent instantly and did nothing. Then i deleted my doomsday folder, and replaced it with my backup. Now i cant uninstal it because it thinks that its still instaled despite running the instaler, and only way for me to get the patch is to hunt down all of the files put into the system folder and put them into them doomsday folder. HELP!!

Follow the instructions in the sticky thread about manually uninstalling.

I can't do that BECAUSE the cd instal doesn't work. Then ill just have to do the same thing, and it won't solve the problem. I refuse to belive Paradox designed a game in which people have to manually uninstal, manually instal of the cd, and need to download the demo to make the actual game work!

Further more, i dont WANT to uninstal. I want to know why the game doesn't work, why the cd doesn't instal, and why the instaler/uninstaler is FUBAR.

If you followed the instructions you would be able to install from CD. ;)

Let's look at why it crashed at 45%.
What was the error message?

Did it mention data2.cab?

Top 4 causes:
1) A virus that corrupted a system file, even if it was later removed from the system. -Reinstall Windows
2) Dirty or Scratched CD. - Clean CD with Windex and lint free cloth.
3) The CD does not like the Drive it is in. Variety of reasons for this. -Try adifferent Drive.
4) Install shield files are corrupt/Missing or out of date.
One Example:

1. The computer im having a problem with doesn't have interent acces, and nothing else has caused problems, so i doubt this is it.

2. I tried cleaning it

3. I only have one drive, but if it didnt like it why would it get to 45%

4. If this is thecase, how would i tell and how would i fix it?

1. I agree it is doubtful to be the cause in this case.
2. It could have a scratch, which would mean it will never work unless you get a repair kit.
3. Drives can do that, seen it happen lots. Do you have a friend that you coul dtry it with their system?
4. Well If I had the exact error message I might be able to be more specific.

Ill go and see what the error message is, but it worked properly on the computer im using right now.

Links work fine for me and I have very high security.
What browser are you using?
What is the name of the file in your error, as that can make a big difference.
