Operation: Barbarossa

-Sir, this just in! Risto Rytis secretary come running into Rytis bedroom.
-What? Ryti woke up looking around in his room.
-Sir, Sorry that I woke you up, but you have a phone call from our allies the Germans.
- Can't they wait? asked the President a bit angry for being waked up.
-No, sir, it's their Cheif of Staff, he says it's important and it can't wait.
-Well, ok I have to take it then, tell him that I be downstairs in 5minutes.
-Yes sir, and once again I apologize for waking you up.
-It's ok.

*5 minutes later*
Ryti answerd the phone.
-Heil Hitler, a voice said.
-Heil Hitler, said Ryti
-This is the German Cheif of Staff, Keitel....I have important news for you.
-What is it then? asked Ryti
-We are preaparing to invade USSR, so we are sending in forces from Norway to invade from Finland, and as you are our Allie you will also be dragged into this war.
-I understand. Ryti answerd
-We have preapared invasion plans for your forces as well, we are sending them over to you with our forces, so you can also check them and make any changes if you like. Said Keitel.
-ok, I understand, I will put my best man on the job.
-Good. Said Keitel
-Was that all, dear Keitel? asked Ryti.
-Yes, Good bye and sorry for waking you up.
-It's ok, Good bye then.
-Heil Hitler. Keitel said.
-Heil Hitler said Ryti.

The very next day, German forces arrived at their positions.
Meeting in the Finnish parliament building beetween the Finnish Generals and the German:

-Our forces are ready to invade Murmansk, and other postions as well. Said Deitl, the German commander in Northern Finland.

-Good, and our forces are ready to invade other postions, like Leningrad. But the real point of why we are joining you is to take back what we lost during the Winter War. Said Mannerheim, the Finnish Supreme commander.

-Yes we understand that. said Deitl.
Deitl continued:
- And the Fürher has promised to let you keep everything to take.

-Good. said Mannerheim

-Let us go through the invasion plan again. said Feige, the other German commander posioned in Finland.

-ok, our forces wil start with invading Viipuri, beacuse its bordering with Leningrad, and it was one of the areas we lost during the Winter war. And togheter with your forces, Deitl, will we attack the port city of Murmansk. This will make the British convoys, that they will probably be sending, to take another way, and give the German subs based in Norway more time to track them down and sink them. Said Mennerheim and pointed at a map.

The Germans Noded at the plan.

- And our Navy will be moving out of their ports in Helsinki and start to bomb the Russians in Viipuri and Leningrad. Said Claes Horloa, the finnish cheif of navy.

-Our forces is resuppling and reorganizing as we speek said the Finish Armaments minister.

-Good, Good, said the German and Finnish Generals

A german in an airmarshall unifrom that hadn't speek since he arrived now stood up and said:
-The German will be using your airports, so we can help out as much as possible, but what is your airforce up to? he asked.

-Our airforce was decimated during the Winter War, we only got a few fighters and Bombers left, but that should probably be enough. said Mannerheim.

-Well back to the plan. Deitl said.

-Ok, as we are sure the Russians will be counter attacking we will make sure our forces arrive at the same time.

-Good. Dietl said an noded.

-Well anyway after we have taken Viipuri we will attack Sortavla, with support from Viipuri, and as soon Sortavla has fallen and our forces there has secured the area we will try to attack Leningrad, this will probably not be a succes, but the Russians won't withdraw their forces from the area, they will probably be reinforceing it instead, making it easeier for the Germans and our other frontlines. said Mannerheim looking pleased as the Germans nodded.

-Is that the plan? Dietl asked
-Yes. Mannerheim answerd.
-It's brilliant. Dietl said.
-Well thank you dear Dietl. Mannerheim answerd.
-I think that the meeing is over now? said Ryti that had been silince the whole time.
-Yes, unless anyone has any questions. Mannerheim said.

Everyone looked at each other and it semmed that everyone had understand the plan.

-Well in that case the meeting is over, good luck with the invasion everybody. Said Mannerheim and smiled.

Everybody stood up and left the room.

But Mannerheim was worried, would the plan be a succes or a total failure? Did the Russians know what was coming?
Would his forces be ready when the invasion would come?
Mannerheim looked at the map....
-No, it can't fail. he was thinking and took his things including the map and left the room.
