The reason I ask is that I'm contemplating a steampunk themed game that would involve both empire-building and thrilling heroics and swashbuckling adventurers. So players who are mainly interested in only one of those could pair up with players who are only into the other, or split up control of a faction how they saw fit.

Have you considered expanding the game outside of Europe unlike this one? IMO, it would be cool to have an non-industrial or less industrial country that progressively begins to get technology that countries such as in Europe already have that at time, if that's the way you'd think this game would go. Like Japan after the Mejii Restoration, non-European countries would try to get more advanced technology.

In case anyone who was into this game missed it, I have indeed started up Steam punk Mars 2. I've got one opening for a colonial government (to take over a Japanese colony that has been abandoned) and an unlimited number of openings for swashbuckling adventurers.

Meh, I'll sign on as Japan. Might need to view the rules a bit, but I'd be willing to play.
