Hello, guys
I've tried WIF (HOI 2 DD) tonight and was amazed how incredibly beautiful it is.
I've been playing as Lithuania from 1936 (well, experience the WWII, etc.).
At first I was disappointed not to find a transport ship that is usually there (that, and the time/IC to build more TP totally crashed my plans to invade Denmark or Finland
.
Soooo, I've joined two other Baltic sisters into a military (ehem) alliance and waited for my best opportunity when all hell breaks loose in september, 1939.
Lithuania declared war on Poland on September 2nd and whith all it's allies rushed south/south east. Actually I didn't find any resistence except for Suwalki - routed 3 Polish divisions together with th germans and captured the province for myself. Long story short, by September 13th I have captured 6 or 7 provinces before Soviet union claimed East Poland (they haven't fired a shot and didn't even set foot on Polish soil). So, the war ends and I keep my captured provinces and start considering whom should I join after dumping my current allies - Axis (-90 relations with germans) or Allies (+70 with brits), as I hope I have some time still till Soviets come crashing down on Baltic states in early summer 1940..
So you may be surprised as was I that on about October 23rd, 1939, I get an event (Latvia too, Estonia some days later) - Reclamation of Baltic, which gives no choices but to accept - and all my core provinces (except for recently captured ones) no belong to SU and all my forces are destroyed by the event.. So I'm left with about 1 IC, no troops and only with my newly acquired porivinces, crawling with partisans.
So, my quastion/problme is this - is such an event (without a choice, no matter how slim the chances of survival are) really feasable and/or neccessary? And why has it fired at such an early time? That doesn't make much sense to me..
NO offence intended, it's just was totally unexpected and if it's there for continuity (so noone could (re)create Grand Duchy of Lithuania in HOI), I can accept that
It's just the choice to surrender to the ultimatum and to disband armed forces wasn't lightly made and could easily have went eaither way..
Anyway, greets on your superb MOD.
